She seems to favor that peachy tone that doesn’t suit her complexion. Leave the peach for Snowball and others of her coloring! That salmon suit is very difficult to pull off, for some strange reason. I was contemplating buying the jacket, but I’m glad I didn’t. This actress looks great in the other dresses, but this suit just looks plain.. I couldn’t believe that they chose it for her. I wonder if Chanel had chosen it for her, or her stylist.

Thanks for pointing it out. I have this white 20c white jacket. It's super light weight and comfortable. I did not realize the difference on cut as you referenced, but compared to the two 21a jackets I got, I would say the shoulder cut of the 20c white one is way better than than the two 21a jackets. This is the cut for a jacket I was talking about. Karl’s jackets for RTW had quite similar cut. VV white jacket from cruise 2020 had similar cut, but most of her jackets have only 5 pieces 2 front, one back and 2 sleeves and are quite straight and simplified. Have you noticed the shoulders at the video? Just perfection. I think that the sleeves of this jacket had 3 seams and was made of 3 pieces.
Ari, is it a VV vs. Karl thing? i.e. does VV typically produce jackets w/ fewer panels? How about the popular jackets from the current Metier season? This is the cut for a jacket I was talking about. Chanel swimsuits are so durable that I have ones from years ago that outlasted many other brands including Eres. I swim in them at least 3x a week and get more compliments than some of my other RTW.
Not really, but maybe combination of the lockdown, and making profit on easier to make clothes. I’m not sure, I see some of the new jackets have a perfect fit like the Metier D’art cream jacket, but it’s much more expensive, than Karl’s pre Covid jackets. I bought the pre fall 2020 and it’s one of these jackets with the simplified cut, I don’t like how it looks on, although at the first sight it looks like a classic Chanel jacket. The other thing is the fashion, it could be fashionable the jackets to be oversized and a bit off, like this Dior jacket. I’m not sure what it is, but I don’t like to pay a lot of money for something that’s easy to make…Ari, is it a VV vs. Karl thing? i.e. does VV typically produce jackets w/ fewer panels? I have a tailor-made suit that took 4 fittings. It fit me perfectly. I have no doubt that a couture jacket is a work of art.
This is very interesting re the panels. Somehow watching the show I knew this was the jacket for me and when the collection came in, it fitted me without any problem. I never buy suits but in this case I got the simpler version of the matching skirt and I recently bought the plain tank on sale in London. I like how it echoes past Chanel designs where the blouse shown used the same fabric as the lining of the jacket. It was a look Chanel herself wore. This is the cut for a jacket I was talking about. Ahaha, I also got the skirt and the simple too on sale now, but I’m waiting for the skirt to be lengthened, I’d never had doubts about the jacket, although it was in the expensive side. I bought it in London when the collection was out. I can’t wait for the skirt although I’m afraid it would be still short. This is very interesting re the panels. I think the HC video has some of the LBJ styles which was offered for a short period in boutiques including London, in 2015. I just missed it as I was moving away then. There was the offer to have a made to measure black or navy jacket in a selection of of styles, tweeds and customised with buttons and trims. They do not seem to have offered this since. The cost wasn’t that bad, considering it was considered semi-Couture.

I looked at my Chanel jackets...all pre VV (nothing has fit me or my lifestyle lately). Each jacket has 7-8 panels for the body part. Come to think of it...because of my petite frame, perhaps VV's jackets didn't fit me right because the bodies are mostly straight???Not really, but maybe combination of the lockdown, and making profit on easier to make clothes. I don’t understand also HC that doesn’t fit well…
But maybe I’m just old ..
The HC show had fantastic materials and colors.
+1 with @ari, re the simplified fit (if I’m erroneously interpreting anyone’s posts, pls feel free to jump in to correct meI looked at my Chanel jackets...all pre VV (nothing has fit me or my lifestyle lately).
