I tried on a few of the ground control jackets today. The shoulders really do not suit my frame, and the way they are cut around the armholes emphasizes that even more. I liked the double breasted coat that is also being labeled as a dress, but it doesn't work for my climate. Didn't love anything in the lookbook either. Phew!

I know that feeling of relief when I leave the store without buying anything and without regrets. It's the best. [emoji2]

I'm glad this season doesn't suit me well either. What I really could use is some nice stand alone skirts. But I hate paying full price for skirts unless I need them to match a jacket. I'm hoping some make it to sale. But the nice ones rarely do here. Or I can try to find some when I'm in London. Does anyone know how the rtw prices compare in London now versus Paris or the US?

I'm not sure on your local prices but as an example the black ground control dress is £3500 or thereabouts, there is a black/white mini skirt I have my eye on that is £1690, the black long coat with the CC belt which I think we both have was £4800 here (far too close to the dress cost!), the short glitter boots are £890 & my white cosmopolite jacket was £4900. Hope that helps!

Thank you This is very helpful. I think the black mission control dress is $3900 here so the prices seem to be equalized. I don't think I'll find any bargains. Except maybe shoes. I'm hoping some of the skirts make it to the sale. I should perhaps reach out to the department stores when the time comes. The offerings at the boutiques seem more limited. [emoji848]

Prices definitely have gone up in London from earlier this year but there is of course the VAT back. However, the dollar also is slightly weaker than a couple months ago so I didn't find there to be any huge financial advantages to purchasing there this last trip. My impression from last week was that pickings were slim for Fall Act I clothing at both the stand-alone boutiques and also the department store offerings (the advantage at Harrods and Selfridges is that you can add up all purchases from any department to get a higher VAT % back). But they all were waiting for Act II in mid September. In the past I've found the best sale selection to be at the main flagship store on Bond Street. :-) Especially cashmere sweaters and tops. Hope you have a successful trip!

Thank you so much for the information!

Pocketbook Pup---almost forgot the most important thing---I found most of the SA's everywhere in London to be really helpful---if you know exactly what you are looking for they will check all the stores (including the department stores) to see where it is!

Thank you!!! I'm going in November so it's a while off but I'm already plotting. [emoji6]

It was actually great to not have any temptation. I've actually been avoiding Chanel so that I won't be tempted by anything. I have my eyes on an H prize and I'm trying to be good so I can get it when/if it ever shows up.

I've managed to find a lot of my skirts either on sale or in the resale market. Even if they match a popular jacket, I think they are not as sought after. An example would be my black Seoul cruise skirt or the Rome beige-black tweed skirt, both found on sale. Good luck!

November is when cruise will hit in the US. Wonder if it will be in UK by then ?? How exciting. !!!

I returned the turtleneck today. I was a bit sad but I am happy I am keeping the dress at least. And I always try to tell myself that there will always be a new chanel piece eventually that I can get
That's a given. My sa sent me a pic of the silver and velvet sweater and it's beautiful. Unfortunately, I am waiting to hear if we have any damage from Irma so I had to put it on the back burner for now.
