I don’t see anything wrong with wearing a chanel jacket with whatever you feel like! Karl was all about breaking the codes, remember the biking shorts with a jacket, evening dress with flat shoes, fancy skirts with biker boots, biker jacket with a silk dress. Why not with joggers, it’s the same as wearing a jacket with jeans. I don’t see the difference!
And haute couture with sneakers! Karl loved playing and experimenting with fashion haha.

I almost always pair my Chanels with dress shorts from Dior to Uniqlo to JCrew. This has become my signature. Chanel herself wore high with low, mixing her fake and real jewellery. Karl put wife beaters and jeans with his amazing jackets. Current videos of Marine Vacth shows her wearing a white tank under her suit. Most people no longer wear matching suits and many jackets aren’t often shown with matching items. Wearing Chanel “total look No 435” head to toe might be a little trying too hard or result in looking a bit of a fashion victim. This thread gives other ideas and inspiration on what to wear with our Chanels and one can adapt whatever suits. If people can carry it off with aplomb, that’s perfect. Not from the US so no idea why the problem with this particular brand and please do post Chanel + Hanes or whatever.

I have a question about Chanel RTW

Can the same pieces be made in different factories with the tiniest differences?
Different colour Chanel main label, slightly different internal care label etc.

I bought my mum a cardigan from an online consignment shop, and looking at the item codes online i can see there small differences in the piece - black label vs white, care label slightly different, seaming slightly different. Etc. it only strikes me as weird as the fabric of the cardigan is technically hard to produce, and the braided trim even hard to do.

I’m sure Chanel like all other premium brands has different factories around the world making their clothes, taking advantage of labelling laws that mean a small cc badge has to be sewn on in france and thats all to say its ‘made in France”

Pictures of the piece i bought attached, keen to hear people’s thoughts and experiences.

I just wanted to say that I love this thread and the usual posters here. You are all so sweet and helpful. It's far different from the attitudes that you sometimes find in the H forums and you're such a welcoming group! I love the mix of personalities and attitudes and tastes that we have here! I don't often buy Chanel RTW, especially more recently, but it's so entertaining to see what everyone else has tried on and picked up

my exact sentiments also! Much nicer than some of the H forums. :giggle:

Hi everyone! I just caught up on almost 20 pages! Have been busy with work...
First of all, I echo everyone’s sentiments about recent collections, I am not a fan of big shoulders and loud logos. However, I have found 1-2 pieces in each collection off runway that are “classics,” and I appreciate that VV is still doing that. I am a classic kind of girl, and like to be understated. I also love mixing high low, and think that’s the beauty of Chanel! The time for a head to toe look for me is maybe a red carpet event or formal event, none of which exist during covid, and so I appreciate being able to dress things down by wearing them over jeans or joggers.
Second of all, I am happy none of the new collections are calling to me! Better for my wallet!
PS pigleto and I found out about vuori through their healthcare worker discount - if you are a HCW they send you a code for 30% off!
