My SM gave me an idea about wearing some jackets or long coats as outer wear when it perhaps gets just a little too cold for them. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet but I'm mulling it over in my mind. I have noticed her doing this but never really thought about it. It looked great on her.

Instead of layering a coat over her pretty jacket she has some thin quilted moncler vests to wear under hers. Then when she gets to the office she takes off the vest. She tends to wear nice simple not overly frilly tops as I recall.

We talked about it while I was trying the VP coat. Thoughts anyone? I think done well it might work and add a quirky modern slant to our outfits and extend their use a bit. For example the VP coat with a thin black vest under it with maybe Chanel sneakers. It won't work for every outfit of course. Just throwing out the idea to provoke thought and discussion. I don't need that look often to be honest because I live in the suburbs and drive to work. But it would be nice for city walkers. Or perhaps for travel. Instead of bringing an extra coat throw a vest into the suitcase.

This is very Italian! Many Italian brands make this very soft puffer no sleeve jackets that can be worn under or over a blazer. I have a orange H one that I wear when I travel in fall or spring.
you can look for Fay or Herno, Moncler - it has to be Goose Down, as it doesn't creat too much bulk. it is a look.

Thank you for your kind words Ari. I'll try to post modeling photos soon.

I will look at the vests. It might be nice for my fall vacation travels.

I like that idea of the moncler vest. I have a soft pink one that's prob a bit too thick for under most of my jackets but it fits under my Celine egg shaped coat. When i went to NYC in January I wore those two layers. I also found it fit over my cuba cardigan. I think moncler has some thinner vests too.

Couple pics of my moncler. I love it. IMG_1503303352.014721.jpgIMG_1503303361.994179.jpg

Speaking of Chanel pants, I would never buy a tweed again!, but I love my Cuba ones.
They are not the usual Chanel cut.
The usual Chanel cut is a bit straight, wide but not too much, slightly short, with high waist and tight around the hips.
Here is how I wore it in the weekend

Adorable! The sash makes the look. I think you told us once before but who makes your blouse? I'm on a white blouse mission.

Oh wow! Look at that! You have both the over and under look perfected. I love it!

Ari just said it, why not. It's something you see a lot on men here. Women wear the short puffer down long sleeves jackets with jeans and sneakers but I think this trend is over? I like the idea of a sleeveless vest under a lbJ and some pants on a woman.

[emoji4] Chanel bought at the sale.
You didn't like the Chanel fall one, I think the reason is that's cotton and it creates too much volume. I always prefer silk you can find many higher quality ones at a lower price point. During sales at Chanel I always ask about blouses. Now they have taffeta one, which again will be too puffy.

You're the epitome of summer elegance. Not easy to be elegant in the heat of summer.

Thanks !!!! I believe they do make a thinner version. I love my moncler. The ritz knit hat I got is the light grey one that has bits of pink and blue. My SA said it would be cute w my vest. Highly recommend the moncler :)

Ari those cuba pants look so awesome on you. They looked not as good on me I'm afraid ! [emoji13]

Like these pant suit on you, ari. Pinstipes have always been a favorite for me. The belt with the blouse makes the entire outfit elegant but casual enough for this hot summer weather. ❤️

This is a great idea, thank you. I have a metalic sleeveless thin puffer vest that could go under my black jacket for the few times I am up north in the winter. Gives me another option with my jackets. Now all i have to do is find it!
