I’m thrilled to finally add my first 2.55 reissue to my collection and join the club! (I had two mini Reissues already from 19A but it didn’t feel “real” until I got a double flap!)

I already posted a reveal on the January 2020 purchases thread so I apologize for repeating thing. My only question to you guys is, is it normal for the curve of the flap to be “pointier” / more folded than a CF double flap or Boy? The flap is much softer than I expected, which I don’t mind from a practical standpoint (makes it easier to get into the bag than a CF, IMO), but I’m just wondering if this is a trait for all Reissues or is it a sign that it’s been worn in? I suppose I’m only a wee bit paranoid because this was the last So Black available so I bought the floor model, and also had to squish it into my carry-on without its box when I was traveling back...

This is common with the Reissue bag according to many forums I have read as it is often stored flat. I actually don't mind the point as it creates a beautiful shape with the base. BTW I love the black hardware, I was looking for the same one but it sold out in Australia

I recently bought my first 226 black RHW from a Chanel boutique and noticed when it arrived (the store sourced one for me) it was less distressed than the others I tried in the past... the SA assured me it will distress more with time, what’s your thoughts? I am considering returning for a credit and then waiting for a more distressed leather as I intend only using it for daytime..... The only thing stopping me is the bag is really beautifully made, much better than the one I saw in store previously with really distressed leather. See picture attached

I do think it'll distress more over time as you use it (the more you open & close the flap, fill the bag, squish the bag). I actually wanted one that was less distressed than others but ended up not having many to choose from.

I think your bag looks perfect! Just distressed enough without looking rough or too beaten about!!! Imo- keep this beauty!!!

Thank you! Yeah, I feel like I really lucked out with So Black being available, it was really what drove me to get it. Edgy and understated is my ideal!

Could you look inside your bag and let me know if the main flap has a definite crease in it already? Mine does after 2 days ( not yet used), I am wondering if it’s how the SA packaged it? Also, she did not give me any felt protective sheets, should I ask for them

Normal. This crease is a result of and relates to your earlier question on why the flap is 'pointier' at the top: we're told the reissues are shipped 'flat' so that means they must fold the bag in that area so they can flatten it.

I question if they're really stored and shipped flat because a SA has brought out a 'brand new', tape-wrapped in plastic, out for me to choose from before. While the bag wasn't stuffed to the point where it was standing like a classic flap, it wasn't completely flat. It was 'squished' though and I think this is how they, in part, achieve the distressed effect.

Hi! New to reissue. I just received my beautiful 227 yesterday. I’ll post some pics tomorrow. I bought preloved from Yoogi’s. Everything about my bag is perfect. It’s preowned 2013-2014. The structure is excellent. I took it out today and loved the feel and comfort. Question, is there an easy way to close and lock the bag? It’s so giving that just closing the turn lock was a bit, actually a big hassle. Is there a trick or is this just something to expect? Love everything about this bag except this issue.

Congrats on your 227! That was my first Chanel bag. The lock took some getting used to for me as well, and it bugged me for a while. No trick I know of, just continue to use the bag and you will become accustomed to it. Enjoy!

Yup, mine has a crease too and I haven’t used it yet! Didn’t come with a protective felt either.

So far, so good! And that had been my primary concern with So Black too - the chipping rumours. But full disclosure, I only bought it 4 weeks ago and I’ve worn it for maybe a cumulative two weeks so far. So maybe too soon to say. But looks great right now still!
