Hi! I recently purchased a reissue 226 preloved. The bag is a 12xxxx series. Anyhow, while I was out wearing the bag. The chain broke. I’m sending it out for repair. But wanted to know, how fragile are the chain straps on this bag? I realize this bag is from 2008-2009, but was hoping to use this bag as an everyday bag. And to be quite honest, with my everyday bags, I don’t really baby them. Was hoping this bag can be my Chanel workhorse bag. Thanks in advance for any input!

I've never seen posts on TPF about the reissue chain breaking... and I've always found it quite sturdy. The reissue in aged calf is considered by many an everyday bag because it's not as scratch-prone (when compared to lambskin).
Thanks! I'm wondering if the chain was already on its last leg? I did purchase the bag pre-loved and it's a 12xxxx series. But I got the reissue because after some research, it's known to be a workhorse and a great everyday bag. I am just hoping the repairs won't take too long because i love love love the bag!
Could you comment on how you find the so black hardware? I know this question gets asked all the time, but I always want an additional opinion if possible! Thanks

Ooooh the metallic blue for sure! Not a fan of the patent in this bag.

I recently bought my first 226 black RHW from a Chanel boutique and noticed when it arrived (the store sourced one for me) it was less distressed than the others I tried in the past... the SA assured me it will distress more with time, what’s your thoughts? I am considering returning for a credit and then waiting for a more distressed leather as I intend only using it for daytime..... The only thing stopping me is the bag is really beautifully made, much better than the one I saw in store previously with really distressed leather. See picture attached

The bag looks perfect to me. I'm sure it'll get more distressed with use; finally a bag you don't have to worry about creasing!!
