A SA at Saks in Beverly Hills told me last week that prices are supposed to go up $200 on Chanel bags in late October/first of November this year.

The price will increasae Nov 1. Jumbo caviars will start at $3000 an increase of $350. The SA said in the sales meeting they recently had Chanel fans were furious but Chanel wants to make their bags exclusive and up them to the same price as Hermes ... Great !!

Really??? No offense to Chanel fans, but I don't find Chanel to be in the same league as Hermes......in terms of quality, workmanship, and material and not to mention, the name.

The SA in a local Chanel boutique here told me price goes up 10% in Nov 1st.

I agree! I love Chanel but let's face it, Hermes is in a league of it's own... Up there.

As for Hermes', when you walk in their boutique and you inquire about availability of Birkin or Kelly bag, will SA offer to call you once they got a new one in stock??? Or will they look at you from top to the bottom to see if you are wealthy enough to acquire one?

The SAs at Hermes always check me out first before initiating conversation with me. Only once I saw a Kelly in stock. They claim the list is closed for the Birkin and a maybe for the Kelly. I'm pretty positive I'm not the first to be called when new stock is available unless I'm a frequent shopper, though once a SA called me the next day after my visit to Hermes about a red Kelly available for my pickup.
