Chanel Price Increase *please include location*

Well I have my hopes set on a black J12 with diamond markers. My SA confirmed EGC and his jewelry buyer is looking into the "price increase". I turned down the watch during double points, because I get more bang for my buck with the EGC event for this purchase. I'm hoping things work out, if not I won't get anything.

I agree with whomever said that if they find a Chanel they feel is worth it, they'll buy it, but that is it. I think the increases are just kind of a joke now. I think that the mad rushes that they cause are kind of sad. I don't know. It doesn't turn me off to Chanel but I will not be buying as much just because as someone else mentioned, paying $3000 for something that was $1600 only a year ago seems rather ridiculous. :*(

I know that in Hk the J12's have gone up about 15%-17%..

Same as Javaboo, I got a call from my NM SA today, and she said that there is going to be a price increase about 15% soon. Not exactly sure when & what bags yet.

I did a couple of times last year trying to grab bags before the price increases, and this time, I just do not really care anymore. I do not want to spend more than $3,000 for a flap that used to be $1,695 just a little bit more than a year ago. I am going to enjoy what I have, not thinking about what I do not have for bags.

ITA! I seriously just can't keep up anymore. Lucily, I really feel like my Chanel collection is diverse. I have the black patent luxe ligne tote, black baby cabas, black patent jumbo, white caviar jumbo, black caviar jumbo, black metallic wallet on chain, silver melrose cabas, and black washed caviar GST. Of course there will always be more bags that I feel like I need, but I just absolutely refuse to spend more than $3k on a BAG. I could get some serious diamond bling for that price.

I'm just glad I built up my collection and got my J12 already, because once the *average* price for a Chanel goes above 3k I'm going to have to walk away from Chanel, at least bag-wise.

Does anyone know if the new metallic reissues will be effected by the price increase?

I remember when LV released their new spring vernis colours - and then a week after their release, increased their prices along with the regular monogram collection!

doesn't seem so, at least not in Paris (see thread http://forum.purseblog.com/chanel/reissue-price-in-paris-help-me-plssss-256755.html, one member just got a Reissue today and it's still 1890€)

I just called the Chanel boutique in Toronto and inquired about the medium classic flap and the price was still the same. I asked the SA about price increases and she says the store hasn't heard anything.

My SA at the SF Chanel boutique said the price increase on the classics would be effective May 25th.

and only on the classics? or certain classics? or classics and some other lignes? LOL... can you tell I'm really tense about this?

-UGH, the flaps have gone up SOOOO much in just the time span of a year.

Also, any word on watches/jewelry? Did these go up as well as was speculated?
