Guess which came home with me?!
Managed to get my hands on one (mini) from Harrods November 2021! Good luck.Anyone see a beige Claire classic flap in London ?
No, department store has its own policy. You should be able to refund…Does anyone know if it is possible to exchange the bag bought in Selfridges I another store in London, for example Bond Street? Tried to call them but nobody answeres the phone.
I really didn't like SA in Selfridges and don't want to come there, I bought WOC there on Ssturday and can see that the leather is not ideal - very matt and dry. So I wanted to have opportunity to see several wocs and choose the best in a friendly atmosphere..
Hi,Hi @jennieng did you managed to secure The medium classic?
I’m planning to get my first Chanel- preferably in dark (black or dark brown) colour. I’m wondering if I should go for classic (small/medium), mini, or those seasonal one.
The mini classic I asked last Friday in New Bond Street store, they told me to put my name on wish list for mini square (but not black GHW as the list was too long and they stopped taking).
I’m not sure how long is the wait, and if I were to buy classic flap small/medium - will they have availability in store.
I’m also travelling to Berlin next month so wondering if I should keep asking around London stores (as my work schedule don’t allow me to visit the stores in weekday and weekend the queue is just crazy) or better chance to get my first Chanel bag in Berlin?
Also, any recommendations for which to take As the first bag - prefer dark GHW smaller bag - classic flap(small, mini, medium) or seasonal mini - based on availability of course.
Sorry that I keep repeating myself
I usually do all my shopping at Chanel in the past 10 years in harrods and there are snobby SAs there. I don’t know if it was a question of racism, but there are a lot of rude SAs in Chanel Harrods. I also had a experience that left me really angered when I went to pay for something in shoeheaven harrods. The assistant manager who doesnt work there now, spoke to me incredibly rudely when I made a mistake with the payment and gave her the wrong card by mistake. I told her that she was extremely rude instead of apologising genuinely she just said to me “I’m sorry if you felt that way” which obviously means she didn’t care at all about the serviceHad a terrible experience at Harrods last week. I am a long time client of Chanel in multiple countries and just moved to Harrods with 3-4 visits with my new SA here.
My SA was not available last minute so I was served by another colleague. I used a corporate card to settle the bill (not even bag, just a couple of small items) as I didn’t have my personal card with me and didn’t know if my Apple Pay can pay more than £1.5K. I had to check the pin as I haven’t used that card for a while and got called “committing frauds” and complained. He also rudely said why wouldn’t I know about the “max two earrings per month” policy (no SA told me before honestly)
I didn’t know about this “no corp card” policy and I didn’t think I deserved to be so rudely treated. I had never been treated this way before in any other chanel in any country. At the end that SA was like “there are so many clients messaging me every day and I wouldn’t have the time to reply” to turn my friend’s Enquiry away. Anyone got experience to share and I felt discriminated as I am not white myself (when that SA is)….
How long were you on the waitlist? Are you able to wear it as a shoulder handbag?Managed to get my hands on one (mini) from Harrods November 2021! Good luck.
Interesting that they ship! But I guess one might get hit with the customs duty in the US. I saw their classic flaps too in November when I flew out of LHR and was also surprised by the look and feel of the caviar - it was really dull and flat.Lhr airport had Black Caviar with GHW in small and medium yesterday, which surprised me because normally airports don’t carry the bag. Stock was good.
I didn’t buy the bag because the bag felt very dry and rough.
I was told that they can mail the bag to the USA and shipping would be £50.00 and I would only have to pay the sales tax. I’m not sure how true that is.
You would save 20% tax.
If anyone has done this before, please let me know
Exactly, what I thought alsoInteresting that they ship! But I guess one might get hit with the customs duty in the US. I saw their classic flaps too in November when I flew out of LHR and was also surprised by the look and feel of the caviar - it was really dull and flat.
I wasn't on a wait list and I don't have a dedicated SA. I literally phoned every Chanel store each day for a week. When I was on the phone to the Sloane Street store, they informed that although they didn't have any mini flaps in stock, that they could see on the system that the Chanel store in Harrods did have a beige flap. I immediately emailed Harrods and asked for pics of the bag and ordered it from them within an hour. They shipped it to my house as I don't live close to London and they can only reserve the bag for 24 hours. How long were you on the waitlist? Are you able to wear it as a shoulder handbag?
I’d like one in medium classic flap, but if I can wear it double chained as shoulder could be tempted.
How does it work for the mini classic flap in black gold hardware these day?
Do these now only come in champagne gold hardware or do they still do classic gold hardware?
I’ve heard it is now difficult to get your hands on one unless you have an SA. I haven’t brought a Chanel handbag in years, this was when you can get one very easily without any waitlist.
