But I would prefer to be able to just go into the store, browse around and try on everything then decide what I would like to buy leisurely. That is more enjoyable than looking at the pictures and getting things in the mail…..sorry for the rant.

I started buying Chanel in 2015 and yeah it was better back then. I do recall there being waitlists for minis though. But I never had any trouble getting time with my SA and having her look up things for me. Now I take care not to bother her too much and only ping her when I’m sure I want to buy because I don’t want to wear out my welcome lol.

Between trying to reserve and being told not guaranteed i decided i hated it and wanted a black mini.

This made me laugh really hard, thank you for that.

I honestly wish everyone could have experienced buying Chanel 5-10 years ago. Heck even 3 years ago. It was a totally different experience, much more pleasant.
It’s really gotten crazy. I still love the brand, but it’s not quite the same. It used to be more fun, less stress. The stress is new.
Yes, it’s completely different. I got my first flap from a boutique for $3500 :confused1: and I seriously just walked in and purchased. The biggest thing back then was trying to find gold hardware on black vs silver:lol:. I thought that was stressful but NOPE.
I wanted a Chanel atlas necklace about 6/7 years ago walked into NM picked it up (on sale too) and walked out with that and $1500 WOC. I just got back into to Chanel this year and honestly, about to get right back out lol between the stress and the price increases every two days. I will get me a flap, 19 and another mini head out because I can’t do stress over any bag! I have enough to stress over irl :giggle:

I wish I have gotten into this earlier as well. I didn’t know I would love Chanel aesthetic. Turned out that I really do. The buying experience has proven to be very stressful. I don’t really enjoy it as much as I would like. More like work than leisure. I’m glad you got a different experience back then cause I can’t imagine if you have been buying Chanel for a long time, how would that do to your overall mental health if it has been like this for the whole time. No sure how long I can continue. The amount of researching, planing ahead and texting every SA I know is what killing my joy. It is fun at first. But I would prefer to be able to just go into the store, browse around and try on everything then decide what I would like to buy leisurely. Glad to have everyone at TPF to talk and to share experiences. That eases the pain.

i completely agree with you! The environment they create causes such a frenzy. And it’s not luxurious. Tbh the raffle system at department stores is so tacky to me and not elegant. They cause so much stress and anxiety but my saving grace has been realizing that I just need to have patience because colors come around again (although God knows what astronomical price it will be). For example, the 21s pink craze was too confusing and stressful for me so I sat it out. Pinks were called lilacs, beiges were called pinks, and there were 4 or 5 different color codes floating around for various shades of pink and “pink”. It made me feel like I was looking at a math equation and going cross eyed lol. But now just a few months later there is an upcoming midtone pink in 22c and a pale pink in 22p, so me and others who missed out before can get those. I much prefer the 22p pale pink to the fleshy rose claire everyone was so hyped for. There will always be more pinks. There will always be more iridescents. There will always be more shades of beige and caramel. And seemingly, sooner rather than later in all cases. So once I realize my blood pressure and adrenaline and pumping from the competition of trying to get a bag I just take a little woosah. I make a strong effort will several SAs but at some point you have to sit back and just say whatever will be will be. You might get off a list or you might not. As long as you know you did all you could (texting tons of SAs expressing interest and checking back a few times) then I think it’s easier to accept whatever ends up happening.

And I too do the same texting tens of SAs trying to get on lists and plan. Then am told it’s to early to reserve check back, or that I’m on some secret pre-reserve waitlist, then I check back and it’s too late, or check back and I’m on but it’s not guaranteed etc. They don’t really foster a lot of loyalty to their stores the way other brands do Bc to many smaller or midsized stores they only send 2-4 bags of a style. So ppl are forced to contact multiple stores, multiple SAs etc.

I do love Chanel, but I agree that the buying process kills joy at times. I kind of feel like I just want to rush to get all the colors I want ASAP so I don’t have to deal with this stress in the future.

LOL @ the Pinks. I remember asking if someone had a flow chart in the 21S thread. I did end up getting the 21S "lilac" rose clair by luck, but I totally agree with you. About this raffle nonsense, it IS very inelegant and not luxury. I saw that the Gabrielle Backpack was popping up. My Saks didn't answer me so I asked one of my NM who had posted the picture a couple of days prior if it was possible and she told me it was in the raffle and she didn't't win it. Bunch of nonsense. BUT silver lining is that my Saks actually texted saying she had the bag for me after I thought I had been ghosted. So win...lol.

I also agree with what you said about colors will come along again, even if not exact but I still feel a bit of pressure just to get everything I want ASAP just not to deal with it.

I am
Actually the same… I started buying in store 2017.. even just befor the pandemic around 20s i was enjoying my purchases. My SA would have good items on the floor. Would send me pics on vacation. Now, my sa is still very nice but overly busy. Was told they are understaffed. So sometimes it takes time for my SA to respond. And i agree, we have to be on top of things months before without really knowing what it actually looks like. And now buying experience is crossing our fingers we get the call and keep asking the SA hoping they dont het annoyed
YES! I would be on vacation at the beach with my family and suddenly get a text from my SA with a picture of a fabulous bag
Thanks for the reminder! Those were the days!

Congrats. Do u like it and plan to keep it? I will receive mine tomorrow.

For the
Thank you! I’ve never seen a small coco handle in real life before (only medium or mini) so I was a bit surprised that it was smaller than I imagined, even though I knew the measurements - but it does fit all my essentials like a power bank, wallet, keys and phone. The color is definitely unique and takes a bit of getting used to. I have a headache today and am in a bad mood so I want to sleep on my decision before doing anything impulsive. I’ve loved all pictures I’ve seen of the bag previously so I guess it just happened to arrive on a bad day. Ideally I would have liked the 19s or 21s iridescent pink, HOWEVER those had a glittery spray coat on top of the leather, meaning it will wear out pretty fast. This bag has iridescence that is integrated into the leather so it should wear far better! It is a crazy chameleon bc it can look straight up yellow gold, then yellow greenish purple pink and then in other lights it looks like pure pink! The other thing that makes me inclined to keep it is that I got it for 4.050€. My small classic black double flap used to cost around the same amount when I got it and is now closer to 7.000€. That makes me apprehensive to send this one back…
