That would make sense especially since they just shifted to a newer collaboration with Chanel but it was my Chanel SA that brought it up to me... We'll see and I'll keep you posted! Points aside, I'm just super happy and appreciative that she put me at the top of the list for the small caramel 19 (I did request to be put on a list months ago before the lookbook came out) and they're only getting 2 in their store. It's also as a special birthday gift since I turn 50 this Halloween!
Congratulations! That is awesome! Happy early birthday!:yahoo:

I truly appreciate all the posts and advice. I’ve come to the Chanel world later in life, it’s truly a learning curve!
I honestly wish everyone could have experienced buying Chanel 5-10 years ago. Heck even 3 years ago. It was a totally different experience, much more pleasant.
It’s really gotten crazy. I still love the brand, but it’s not quite the same. It used to be more fun, less stress. The stress is new.

Unfortunately the stress will probably not go away. Chanel is not making enough to keep up with demand. Layer on resellers, influencers, and personal shoppers still scooping up merchandise and what seems like a large flock of new buyers, the experience won't be like it was a few years ago. Great for Chanel because the frenzy is real but stressful for those of us that remember the old days.

I so totally Agree. I used to have so much fun and I was friends with my SAs. We would share pics and get excited together anticipating the upcoming seasons. Then a few years ago when Chanel started taking over the boutiques most of the SAs who I’d been working with for 10+ years quit and I had to start relationships all over. It is still exciting and fun but there is a huge stress component that never used to be there.

The boy belt bags are 21K, but the tweed bags are all old stock (21A or 21B). I'm not sure why they haven't updated the displays.

I wish I have gotten into this earlier as well. I didn’t know I would love Chanel aesthetic. Turned out that I really do. The buying experience has proven to be very stressful. I don’t really enjoy it as much as I would like. More like work than leisure. I’m glad you got a different experience back then cause I can’t imagine if you have been buying Chanel for a long time, how would that do to your overall mental health if it has been like this for the whole time. No sure how long I can continue. The amount of researching, planing ahead and texting every SA I know is what killing my joy. It is fun at first. But I would prefer to be able to just go into the store, browse around and try on everything then decide what I would like to buy leisurely. That is more enjoyable than looking at the pictures and getting things in the mail…..sorry for the rant.
Glad to have everyone at TPF to talk and to share experiences. That eases the pain.

Yes, I remember 3 years ago when I made my first purchase, I walked into the Chicago store on impulse, had a selection to look over, and made a purchase.
Those days are long gone.
