I have grey/black and linen/black.

My grey ones are 4 years old this summer and linen ones maybe 2 years old. Both are in good condition, despite me wearing them religiously throughout summer and (dry) autumn weather! I’ve even walked around Parc Guell in Barcelona in the linen ones and didn’t damage or dirty them surprisingly (it’s super dusty and uneven terrain there).

My linen are slightly more comfortable, I think the jute (the rope bit) is slightly thinner on them and overall the fit is just better on me. But grey ones are still very comfortable.
I know some people have said the rope bit can have some fraying but I’ve never had an issue with that.

I can’t compare as I haven’t got the YSL ones though.

This is a recent picture of both pairs, as you can see, they don’t look too worn or beat up. I’m happy with the quality.

Wow yours have held up so well! Thank you so much for your help! But I'm actually looking at the lambskin ones I should've been more specific ‍♀️

Hey everyone! I apologize in advance for asking a question that's been asked a hundred times but I'm thinking about purchasing the chanel espadrilles and I just want to make sure they're worth it. Can anyone who's had them for a couple years vouche for the quality and wear? I've also been eyeing the ysl espadrilles and not sure which ones to go for. Thank you in advance

I have the YSL ones now for a year and they did hold up quite nicely. What I noticed, personally, is that the YSL espadrilles are a bit too wide for my foot. I think that if your foot is more narrow you should go for the Chanel espadrilles since they usually fit more tight whereas the YSL espadrilles are the complete opposite. I had to wear soles in my YSL espadrilles for them to fit me, and now the complete insole has moved lol so that's a bummer.

Can anyone vouche for the lambskin and how it wears over the course of a couple years?
I’ve had the black lamb skin for almost 3 years now and wear them all the time & don’t baby them. I too was worried they wouldn’t hold up but they’re great. They stretched out a little bit they still look really good. I’ve even gotten caught in mild rain a few times. Get them you won’t regret it!

I finally received these babies I got from a lady on Vestiaire collective who had allegedly only worn them twice. They are a size 36. My Chanel slingbacks are also a size 36 (although extremely tight in the toe box and uncomfortable and I think I could have gone up to 36.5). These espadrilles though are amazing. It takes about a minute or two to get into them but once in, they’re marvelous! Thanks for all the previous posts that recommended to stick to the smaller and tighter shoe rather than actually sizing up! I understand these will stretch in time!

I think they are so worth it - mainly because of their comfort - I now own 5 pairs and getting ready to buy my 6th pair - this all I wear in summer late spring and early fall. I also have Gucci, Ferragamo and Prada espies and they are not as comfy - please note that all my espies are non leather (I fear how much they will stretch/not stretch) my first pair of Chanel espies I bought in 2015 and I am seeing some cracking and peeling on the rubber sole - but I have not seen it with my other pairs. I think they are so worth it - the insoles feel like butter.

Got my white/black espadrilles.

I have the all black in 37 and that was snug when I first put it on. This ones are a bit loose already. I wonder maybe the leather is a bit thinner this time ‍♀️
I still love them regardless

I am a size 36. Somehow when i bought my espies it is difficult to go in but once i walk my foot will come out. It will slide in and out and makes it difficult to walk. I have not worn it since. May i know what is the smallest size available? I really like it and wish to purchase another 1.

Hi, can I ask you a question about the linen espadrilles, do they fit true to size, are they the same size as your ballerina flats, and will it stretch over time. Thank you!!

My linen espy are size 36, my ballerinas are 36.5C (the wider fitting). They have stretched a little but mainly width ways but are not loose, my foot does not slip out.
My other pair are the grey and black pair from 3-4 years ago, they are a 37 and feel a little loose. Not problematic but I prefer a more snug fit. At the time, I really couldn’t get my foot into the 36! Annoying that they don’t come in half sizes!
If you can try them beforehand, I would recommend it because it’s a bit hit and miss for some people and I think it can differ season to season and espy to espy!

I feel like the leather on all Espadrilles got really thin. I tried on several pairs a few months ago and the leather on all of them felt comparatively thinner than the one on my older ones.

True. I haven’t worn my white new espadrilles as I’m afraid to break it straight away.
My all black I bought 5 years ago is much more durable

I absolutely love my espadrilles, I think they work with nearly any casual and business casual outfit. They're a great option for when you want or need to wear the same shoes all day long, but don't want the ultra-casualness of a sneaker nor the discomfort of flats.

I have three pairs and counting- one navy tweed, one multicolor fabric, and one light grey linen. The light grey linen ones are my go to’s and they certainly don't look brand new anymore, but they've held up wonderfully despite the beating they've gotten. They're all about two years old at this point. I did make a point of keeping the tissue inserts and replacing them in the shoes when I am not wearing them and I think that has helped with their longevity. I don't have any of the leather ones but I am thinking about a pair - those I would be slightly more concerned about scratching or scraping because they're lambskin.

A couple of things to bear in mind - they only come in full sizes, but depending on the fabric they will stretch. My linen ones have stretched considerably and I wish I got a size down - the tweed ones haven't stretched as much.

Also - avoid getting them wet. I learned this lesson the hard way when I got caught in a rainstorm and the sole expanded. I was kind of able to mash it back down once they dried out, but in the moment I was horrified and it was certainly annoying to try to get them to go back to their original shape.

Hope this helps and can't wait to see what you buy if you pull the trigger!
