I like seasonal variations of the classics - things with little unexpected touches. I recently bought a preloved iridescent black nubuck calfskin Reissue from the 2011 Metiers D’Art collection, which I just adore - it’s not the typical classic Reissue, but it’s just a little different and therefore feels more special to me. I’m not a huge fan of classic flaps because they’re a little same-same-y to me, but maybe I just haven’t found the right one!
maybe these ??

What are u thinking about this bag? I think its gorgeous. Somehow a classic but also not cause of the color. I cant decide.... its under 4k šŸ˜…View attachment 6007046
I really like this one! I love dark chocolate-brown bags, I find them very classic and elegant so this colour would never put me off. The only thing that makes me hesitate is the patent, does Chanel patent get sticky over time?? I love the look of it but I've never been brave enough to buy one :(

I went into the boutique yesterday after months and noticed many different popular styles available on display with only a handful of clients walking around and many SA's with nothing to do. Has the greedy price increase finally caught upto Chanel? Or are people just not as interested in the brand anymore? Even social media influence has slowed down. When I first started buying Chanel in 2022, it was like winning a lottery trying to get a bag I wanted. I saw people buy anything and everything available like the toilet paper frenzy during COVID lol. I'm certainly glad to see the chaos calm down. The funny part was that the doorman still tried to make me wait outside in 93 degree heat even though I could see 6 SA's just standing there bored with nothing to do. For what, to create an illusion that the boutique is busy? Luckily I had an appointment so I was let into the boutique and out of the heat.

I myself just want 4 more bags on my wishlist as the latest bags don't excite me the way the way they used to. I'm starting to get over the hype and especially the price increases.

So I took my Coco Handle out of the box today for shopping and dinner and this tag that I overlooked until now fell out of the box. I texted a photo of it to my SA and she confirmed my suspicion that it was a security device from the boutique.

Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else? It periodically blinks red btw.

This has never happened to me but I suppose you could just return it to the boutique? Seems surprising that it made it home with you as that would defeat the purpose of a security device in my mind but I suppose it must happen every now and then, as your SA seems to allude!

I'm sure this has been addressed, but does anyone feel embarrassed by rocking their more logo'd chanel bags as everyday bags?
I think it’s fine if it’s just one logo cc bag and not paired with cc earrings cc necklace cc belt and cc shoes. It’ll be too tacky. I won’t be embarrassed carrying a classic cc flap as a daily bag but the feeling is not so nice anymore for me as it is a very common bag for some time already.

Someone said, ā€œI’m over so over quiet luxuryā€ and I agree. I love Chanel and I hope every one knows I love Chanel. Honestly I understand what you mean tho, with any other brand than Chanel. Show the bags please ! I bet they’re amazing.

No. I’m not embarrassed to wear my obvious Chanel, Cartier, designer sneakers…

I know when it would be in poor taste depending on my surroundings or situation and I adjust, but I’m never embarrasssed by my obvious designer pieces.

That said, I don’t wear items with repeating logos all over them. But classic Chanel’s remain classic to me and look great with my t-shirt dresses and daily athleisure ā€˜fits! Lol

Depends on what time you went and where your boutique is located. Some of it is the price increases but a large number of their collection is priced far below cf prices. Rtw prices are truly ridiculous however. The hype was created by the pandemic and social media. Chanel will be fine without all the hype. Most of their revenue comes from other areas like makeup and perfumes. I for one am relieved things are getting back to normal. So many new clients since 2000 just hoarding and buying to resell and/or flexing. Now everyone is just obsessed with Hermes and traveling. Hopefully they too will lose hype and interest too.

Yes I agree the shift of influencers now being obsessed with Hermes probably has a bit to do with it and I'm glad to see it slow down, not complaining at all. I didn't enjoy going into the boutique where the SA's are so swamped and unable to spend any time with you. This is a Dallas boutique which is normally busy on weekdays and especially packed on the weekends. It once took me over an hour to even get into the parking lot. They get clients first thing in the morning when I've gone in early to avoid the crowds so I was very surprised to see it empty. It was surely very telling!

I was recently at the NM boutique as well and I noticed the lack of interest from the women who came in and looked at the bags. They saw and quickly left. Which is totally normal, but just a huge change from the type of chaos I witnessed in 22/23 where folks were frantically buying even the lopsided and low quality seasonal bags. Probably because they fell for the whole "investment" hype.
