My biggest concern is the durability of the matte calf caviar in such a light color. The beige Clair is usually the more durable shinier caviar which might keep its pristine condition longer. So torn as I do love this chevron beauty just super concerned that it might be less durable.

Let me tell you a story, when I first got the classic flap in black, I chose caviar because I was told that it was more durable over lambskin. But as days went on, I regretted getting it in caviar because I didn’t love it, so I didn’t take care of it as often and ended up getting rid of it. If you get what you love and find more beautiful to your eyes, you would be more motivated to take care of it, thus it will end up lasting longer. Whereas if something is uglier yet more durable, you’re more willing to throw it around and eventually it will end up wearing too. Whereas if it’s something you love and cherish, people tend to treat those like their babies, they end up looking nicer even if it’s not as durable. But so the beige color in general, as long as it’s caviar, it’s durable regardless of whether it is matte or not. I’d say go with the beautiful chevron.

I love the chevron one..so beautiful!
If you're talking in terms of durability, the matte one is very durable. I don't know if people gave advice as it saying it wasnt.....but if that's the case, it was most likely in regards to the matte caviar in 2014-2016. Chanel came out with a "matte iridescent caviar " that was just horrible. It was soooooo bad. Wore really poorly like suede. The caviar literally had color transfer even for the black bags. The wear and tear was like suede.
Since those years, matte caviar is more durable and nothing like the ones from 2014-2016.

Please don’t hate me...but I am so bored seeing the beige Clair- it is everywhere....I am a huge chevron lover- it just looks way more updated and trend forward especially in a “beige” traditional old school colour...to me the chevron looks more unique yet still classic.
you need to be careful with any Chanel bag cause they are so expensive...but I don’t think you need to baby it too much ....chevron 100%!!!
