^^Oh, I never even clicked on the link! Those Chanel's look like they are satin or something. They definitely don't look like caviar or even lambskin. Interesting! someone in NYC needs to go check them out and report back!

^ Correct. There have been occasional sales of CHANEL bags at Costco before, for the past 3 years, I think. Along with Louis Vuitton, Coach, Fendi, Burberry, Rolex, etc.

Just do a search on Costco and you'll find several threads on this

Haha--of all people on this board, I just found out I have a meeting just a few blocks (literally!) from there on Thursday. Just because of that I should go look.... no matter how horrified I may be. Although I did read some of the posts you refer to and actually it seems maybe like they have Chanel for big openings... and never again??!!!??

Without pictures it's hard to tell the style or from what season it is from...could be several seasons old. I can just picture it now...a bunch of PF'ers checking out the Chanel at Costco and making sure the dustbag, auth. card and all the essentials are included
That's funny!

The Chanels here in Canada have to send everything back to Paris if they don't sell. Stuff that never even went on sale, because many things here don't go on sale, they just go back to Paris. I can't imagaine them ending up at Costco. :D

Um, the classic flaps don't go on sale at the store ever... but they have them at Costco, just a few blocks north?? I think it's time to sell all mine if that is true. This is really a low. Not something I am excited about at all. No offense. And in my opinion vis a vis the brand, not worth selling out for that much of a discount to Costco..... Is this real?

This is not true!! I have seen classic flaps on sale MULTIPLE times. Last year brown ones with silver hardware were on sale and many people on this forum bought them. Also my SA had a lilac classic flap on sale but of course as soon as the email went out someone bought it. This is not heresay I have seen it along with many others. If you have a very good relationship with you SA when someone make a return of a bag you will get a deal.

Good point because yes that is true. But MOSTLY it does not happen that they really go "on sale" as would be anywhere close to the effect of selling Chanel in Costco in terms of how selling luxury brand at discount goes. That was more my point.

Hmmmm interesting. It actually occurred to me when I was there that if Chanel wasn't into this (and I am one of those people who is glad they are not) and could do nothing else about it, they could just send someone up there to buy the bag or two the place had on hand... It sounds like a gimmick since it seems many brand new Costcos have had one but then do we hear about it again??!!? But that one person on the blog made a good point and it had actually occurred to me as well--Costco minus st is Coco.

I have to say all in all Costco was cool. Strange to see the HUGE shopping carts in the city... like REALLY STRANGE!!! But the girls I was with (one was a member from California) and I were thinking we could shoot up on the subway buy big bags of food together and split them up to bring home and save A LOT OF $$. NYC is so expensive. I will buy my food to save $$ at Costco, but Chanel. For that I definitely prefer the boutique or Saks or NM or Bloomies.
