Chanel at Costco

This has been mentioned on the forum before and there was actually a question as to what costco was selling- wether or not they were authentic. What did costco buy off of a truck- I doubt it! Hopefully someone can check this out and let us know!

^^ paying full price does not make me feel better if an authentic bag can be bought for less given the climate of the economy..but if you feel great and feel that paying full price shows your true devotion to Coco well then that's wonderful.

um, i wouldn't call it true devotion to coco... and stuff does go on sale at nm etc... costco tho--vs century 21 or tj maxx even... not that i'd find that so attractive either... just seems sooooooo odd and almost untoward. (maybe why century 21 or tj maxx wouldn't touch it). babyontheway has me cracking up re buying the stuff off the truck!!! let me buy it off the truck myself then...

while for some it may be less than appealing for others it may be ok..its really up to the individual. i myself am always looking for a deal and altho nm or bg has sales if i can get it now i would instead of waiting which im totally impatient and would rather not wait lol..but thats just me...thanks for the info "cris"

Chanel puts out cease and desist letters to guard against newspapers etc saying Chanelesque and the like... and we sit here and moan and groan about designers who copy Chanel... nothing wrong with wanting to find yourself a good deal--at all!--but in light of their general stance, I am very surprised you can find Chanel at Costco... It just doesn't sound right to me... but if anyone manages to score one of those bags, more power to you! And I hope it's in good shape vs the one that has obviously been manhandled by many a shopper...

Without pictures it's hard to tell the style or from what season it is from...could be several seasons old. I can just picture it now...a bunch of PF'ers checking out the Chanel at Costco and making sure the dustbag, auth. card and all the essentials are included

Has any of NYC members here actually dropped by Costco to look at these Chanel flaps? I'm actually quite curious now and might want to stop by just to see if they are indeed authentic. When I first read about Costco selling Chanel from MadisonAveSpy I almost couldn't believe it.

I see where pls5 is coming from.. even if you buy it on sale at NM, Saks, the boutique or even at woodbury, somehow it's different than buying a chanel bag in the same place you can buy car tires.

I don't blame a consumer for going there and buying anything.. money is money.. It just does not speak well of any luxury brand to be sold this way...that's just my opinion.

I have no idea where they would be from either.. NM and Saks have outlets, so that doesn't make sense.. maybe Bloomingdale's end of season items? don't think they have an outlet.

I wonder if this merchandise would be considered 'powerbuys'. I know of department stores who sometimes buy goods from factories that were rejected by the original brand. These goods could have been rejected for all kinds of reasons, from not meeting quality control standards, to the colour being slightly off from what was requested, to more products being produced than was ordered. The factories, to recoup any losses they incurred, might sell these goods to retailers like Costco.

Wait, I'm suddenly getting a vision of myself joining the crowd.:p

It being a Costco in NY tempts me bad! Like foxycleopatra said, I feel like heading there just out of curiosity.
