this color is so special! I love how it's neutral but also unique in a way that it kinda stands out! Do you think the small is big enough for water bottle, light jacket, umbrella, and essentials (wallet, make up pouch, key phones and snack for kids lol)
I think that’s pretty much all you could fit in it or it might get too heavy! It’s a fun bag to use

Dears,

It is discouraging and frustrating how some nice YouTubers are bashing the Chanel 22 bag. Lately they complain and complain and conversely they keep buying Chanel altogether. Maybe I am part of the lucky few who has no issues with my Chanel 22, and I have learned to accept Chanel is a brand I like regardless of their policies, price increases, etc..... however the negativity going around YouTube is not cool, especially coming from people who can be interesting at times.... just saying....

Knock on wood, but I've used my small Chanel 22 in metallic blue twice now (both times were for 30+ minutes) and so far, no peeling or any sign of wear/tear. Maybe the metallic blue is the dark horse this season and can withstand the design flaws of the bag that are causing issues to the other colorways...

The metallic bags are made of calfskin which is hard wearing and imho pátinas nicely..... I too own the metallic blue and so far, so good.... the lambskin ones are so soft and yummy.... I am thinking about getting a black one with gold lettering because black is black, and Chanel does black the best....
The black 22 bags have been out for some time and have not heard any issues on them....

Yes definitely all the above will fit.
the only item I can’t vouch for is the laptop. It might not fit or fit awkwardly for the small size.

Thank you!! I truly love the color and ease of this bag. Just one minor thing though - if you look at my second attached picture, you can see there are several deeper creases/lines(?) running through the front of the bag. I'm not sure if this is normal for calfskin, and I think it may smooth out as I use the bag more, but what do you more seasoned Chanel folks think? Would it bother you?

This bag is going for distressed, grunge, carefree look so totally not meant to be smooth at all. Those creases are normal.

It's not for me. Here's my thoughts from another post.

The 22 may carry more but the more you put in it, the heavier it'll get. I don't think that the relatively thin chains will feel that comfortable when the bag starts filling up (even if it has leather woven in, it's still metal).
Since you're a busy mom, are you willing to pull open and pull close that draw string every time you take things out or put things in? If you're okay with leaving the bag open then I guess that's fine but it doesn't feel that secure/safe to me. And the more stuff you have in there, the easier it is for things to fall out.

In all honestly, it's a glorified drawstring bag, and many regular drawstring bags (made of synthetic materials or canvas/cotton with rope strings) take a lot of beating with putting in lots of items, pulling of the ropes and opening and closing the drawstring opening. I don't think that a soft leather bag will fair well when the chains pulled through the leather loops constantly.

As a fashion bag, the Chanel 22, with a few items, and carried in a loose casual way on the shoulder or by hand, it can look quite chic. But as a more practical bag for everyday use? I have my concerns/doubts.:-s

I'm sure most people know about this bag, but I just bought the CHANEL 31 Drawstring Tote from back in the day. It's really similar to the 22 (which I have). If some of you are loving the look of the 22 but are worried about the quality, maybe try this one if you can find it?
