I wear a gold name necklace and mix it up with other necklaces, pearls, turquoise, shorter chains etc, it looks cool! Here is me wearing it with other necklaces with my sister, I don't think it looks tacky unless your a tacky person KWIM? It's tongue in cheek anyway! By the way the pic is not very flattering!

I think they're cute and not tacky at all, especially if you get one in real gold.


If you wanted to go the classier route, you can never go wrong with a diamond initial pendant.

not tacky at alll! i had one made as soon as i saw it like in 1999 my dad had mine made in White gold. Now im making another one in silver with my nickname on it. I cant wait to get it. i love it

I don't think it's tacky, and after I saw Carrie wearing it I wanted to start wearing mine which I got when I was 13 and was very trendy thing to wear a teenager in the early 90's. My friends told me it was tacky and I couldn't wear it. I decided on wearing it but when I went to my jewerly box the clasp is broke so I decided it was sign not to wear.

My girlfriend mentioned wanting the carrie necklace, understanding there's a certainly tackiness to it...but I figured she wouldn't have mentioned it if she didn't really want it. My question, and I really need your help: white gold or gold? She's darker complexion/latina - so I wasn't sure what would go best with her complexion. Please please please....help me!

I have mine made in white gold and my name is spelled in Arabic letters (I have a Scandinavian name though). People can't read it here, but once in a Spanish market place sales man called me by my name and I was like how can he possibly know my name, until I remembered I was wearing my necklace
