carrie necklace = tacky ?

My parents gave me a very simple and delicate, dainty name plate necklace about 10 years ago. I hardly wear it - but it's beautiful. I also got one of those name rings for my 13th birthday plated with diamonds. I loved it through highschool but as an adult I can't see myself ever wearing it again :s

Only if your name is actually Carrie. Then it is totally tacky.

But if your name is Fatima or Rocio or Heather or Keisha or Amrita, etc, then the only thing cooler than a Carrie necklace would be two Carrie necklaces. Layered! Especially if both are 100% precious metal and gemstone-free!

Since my blue denim classic Keds finally arrived, they are giving my red bandana print Keds some serious competition for the coveted title of New Black Pump.

And I now contemplating starting a "Post Your Classic Keds Collection" thread.

Mine is most impressive, especially if I get to count the Grasshoppers.

You can get any name you want in a variety of fonts- the silver ones are only about $30, gold is more pricey at $80. They ship from Israel so it takes a couple of weeks, but I'm really happy with mine!

LC wears one on The Hills and it looks cute on her. I think the key is to get one that is delicate and simple. I think the ones that are heavy and chunky look a little too urban for most women to pull off, KWIM? I hope that doesn't sound rude, I just don't know how else to put it...

I think that the inital necklaces are much nicer than the whole named ones...

Like someone mentioned, it would be a bit freaky to have everyone know my name via my necklace....

My vote would be for a diamond or gemstone encrusted intital pendent...it is so elegant and will go with everything and a killer layering piece....

I think it's cute if it's delicate and your name is short. I have one from middle school that looks totally ghetto fab because its big and double plated, but I was thinking about getting a really small simple one.
