She looks like an oversized pizza.
I'm sitting in the train to get home from work and everybody is looking at me because I can't stop laughing and crying at the same time! Oh dear. Compared to this outfit the bags do actually look good. :) my my this girl has class.

I really can't understand the extreme dislike you all have for Cara. She's beautiful, successful, popular with the younger scene, who will after all be the new up and coming clientele for Mulberry...

To be honest I don't understand why they've picked any of the people they've named their bags after. Lana Del Rey? She's absolute guff! I vote for Ferne Cotton next time. :D

Maybe it isn't "Cara." Maybe it's just mulberry's attitude some dislike.

In do see value in change. And its inevitability. I see value in viewing tradition through fresh eyes.
I see that Cara is a human being with feelings: perhaps she reads this forum.
But, at the end of the day, the sales figures will speak best.

I think some anger's about these Cara bags, not about the model. Buyers of all ages look for classic designs which embody "mulberry," not camo backpacks. It could feel very insulting to longterm customers.
But, again, change is inevitable...

Perhaps it's Mulberry trying to pull in a totally new, younger market - Lily Cole and Alexa Chung were both "top models" but maybe they didn't have the grunge appeal of Cara? I read somewhere that she's The Face of modelling for 2014, so Mulberry will be delighted that she's both promoting and designing their products.

Personally, I prefer Cara's older sister, Poppy, who modelled the Perry etc so elegantly for Anya Hindmarch a few seasons ago, but there's no doubt that Cara will attract a younger clientele (who may, or may not, be able to afford the price tag!) Mulberry may be deliberately aiming to extend their appeal - but, for me, it's Kim Sears who's a true ambassador for their merchandise as she embodies the English style that I've come to associate with the brand.

Just found this, I hope the pic comes out. Apologies if someone else has already posted!

Mulberry Got Cara Delevingne a Handbag Cake for her Birthday
BY AMANDA MULL AUGUST 13, 2014

Yesterday was Cara Delevingne’s 22nd birthday, and considering that she’s an international It Girl and supermodel from a well-to-do London family, you’d be excused for not knowing exactly what to get her. Mulberry, the brand that loves Cara the very most, did not seem quite so stumped; it got her an edible Mulberry Cara Delevinge Bag, bathed in black fondant.
In this post-Cake Boss world, everything has the potential to be an object that is also a cake, and handbags, with their generally blocky shapes, are relative child’s play to the stunt bakers of the world. Even so, this cake is a particularly good example of the genre; when it first appeared on Mulberry’s Twitter account, I had to look at it very closely to make sure my eyes weren’t deceiving me.
They weren’t. The cake is, of course, modeled after Mulberry’s yet-to-hit-stores collaboration with Delevingne, which mostly involves adding quilting (and sometimes backpack straps or studs) to Mulberry’s popular Bayswater shape. Mulberry and Delevingne are currently in the middle of a huge publicity tour for the bags, so here’s hoping they show up in stores soon.

I know this is a complete turn around but I'm finding I like the look of the little grey camo bag in this last photo.....:tumbleweed: I can't believe I've just typed that but it looks really nice in this picture..... :confused1:

There are loads of beautiful young models out there that look just as good as Cara. Her success IMO is all about her extremely favoured position in life and her parents contacts. I have to admit I don't understand her popularity. I guess showing her less favourable self and behaving badly is appealing to the younger generation...............but in the end we all grow up. I can't see backpacks appealing to the same clientele in 10 years time but I expect Cara will still have the luxury of behaving exactly the same.

I've always thought as Mayfly , Kim Sears would have been perfect? I loved seeing her turn up at Wimbledon last year with all her Mulbs. They obviously blew that totally this year as she moved to an Aspinal tote.

As Remainsilly points out, change is inevitable. If Mulberry are going to stick with Cara I think they would do well to also have another model that will appeal to their more mature clientele.there have been loads mentioned before, Ferne Cotton etc etc

and Cara's over inflated commission and pay cheque are obviously partly to blame for the huge price increases recently and the ridiculous prices of the Car range.
