Can you wear a black purse in the Spring/Summer?

That is a wonderful idea! I think that might add the "pop" I'm looking for -- why didn't I think of that? Thanks for the tip How would you recommend picking a scarf? That is an odd question I guess, but I've never done the coupled look. My Burberry Prorsum Beaton bag is black leather...Would a solid teal or pink silk scarf do the trick? Maybe I need to experiment...

I carry black anytime of the year, whenever I feel like it. I love colored bags, but I'm also a huge fan of the tried-and-true black bag. I agree with songofthesea...maybe add a colorful scarf of some type or even a summery fob to your black bag. I have a cute little leather Coach daisy fob and a sparkly Coach flower fob that I like to use on my black bags during spring/summer. Pretty much any color of scarf should work with your black bag. I think a black bag will be fine in summer, especially since you said you like to wear bright clothing. A little black amongst all your color won't hurt a thing.

Personally, I'd go with a patterned scarf that has both black and a bright color (or colors) in it. If you go to the Hermes forum, there's a thread there called something like: Perfect match: Hermes scarves and bags. While it is very high end, you don't have to spend that kind of money to get some great ideas about matching colors.

Black knows no season. However, it is the thickness of the leather and the pattern of the bag that makes the difference to offset it for all seasons. The Burberry Prorsum Beaton is very attractive and may be a good choice to take into the summer but only if it is lightweight.

This year, the black color seems the trendy color. I asked my husband if I would buy a LV black dress to go to a wedding. He said, no black for wedding. Shame for me

Sure, why not? Most of the bags I own are dark-colored and carry them all year-round. In fact, I think I only own one bright bag and I hardly use it.

Love a black bag! For me, it's more about the style of said bag. My winter and spring bags may both be black, but they vary in style.
