Great question! You just made me aware of the fact that I don’t. I think it’s a preference thing. We have 4 seasons in NY. In the Fall, Winter and Spring, I generally wear my black bags but, come the summer, I embrace cognac or linen colored bags. I think for me, it makes me feel lighter and cooler and I embrace the change just as I do the different seasons.

Yes, I wear black bags year-round, albeit less frequently in the summer. It's just not something that I would automatically gravitate towards in the warmer months. However, sometimes, and with certain outfits, a black bag is just the best pairing, irrespective of the season, and so I would not hesitate to pick a black bag in those situations. Additionally, while I prefer black bags with silver hardware for warmer months (especially for daytime use), and also prefer they be small to medium in size, there are no hard and fast rules. Ultimately, it just depends on the look I am going for, and what goes best with the outfit of the day.

Depends on what I'm wearing. Black bags look great with jeans and trousers - my staple summer outfit is a pair of wide leg trousers and a linen shirt and black bags look great with that combo - my current fave it a Polene numero un with the gold chain strap and I literally wear it all the time (on rotation with the Cyme mini in tan). But if I'm wearing dresses/skirts I tend to go for softer colours like tan, nude, grey/greige

I prefer navy full stop, but last winter carried a black Valentino tote which fitted everything.
The summer in London, since June, has been a washout, so I’ve just got it out this morning, although tbh it Does seem a bit unseasonal..

I don't have any qualms about wearing a black bag in summer (especially in the evening), but my wardrobe is much lighter over spring/summer so I tend to gravitate towards my lighter coloured bags.
