Actually, I read in a book once that the soles are meant to rub off. Mr Louboutin did it on purpose. You can read about it here:

I have had a red sole (CL bruges, last summer) rub off on white carpet after getting caught in the rain. It would NOT come out and it was quite bothersome, esp. when my lease was up and I had to explain the very faint pinky-red. Lesson learned for me!
This might be a very stupid question and maybe answered before but I can't bring myself to wear my Louboutins because I don't want the red to wear off on the soles

I just received my first (and last if my husband has anything to do with it) pair of BEAUTIFUL red patent leather decolette CLs. The soles "chipped" just walking around inside! I found an obscure website about making "felt slippers" and they put rubber stuff on the soles. I bought this stuff at Menards called Plasti-Dip. You use it to rubberize tool handles by dipping them - you can brush it on, too. It comes in various colors, including RED!! I'm trying it on a pair of crap shoes before I put it on my CLs .... I have high hopes!
