Chamkila is smoother, still has the grain but it’s a subtler grain. Shinier. Hand feel is hard to describe...its smooth to the touch and sturdier than say, evercolor. It feels a lot like the Mysore but a lot smoother. I don’t really feel the grain. I think it’ll hold up well.
Thanks for the description! I will hope to see the new goatskin sometime soon :)

I thought I’d post my current collection but I expect to add more as I find other colors and leathers. It’s been useful to me to see how the different leathers wear over time and how the different types of leathers take color.

Wow, serious calvi goals!!! Thank you for the super informative post! What's your favorite calvi?

What a collection of calvis!! Would love to hear if you can share which leathers wear well over time :)

These are stunning! Thank you for sharing the collection colors/leathers. How are you liking madame calfskin? I'm tempted to get the same rouge piment you have :)

Do you switch colors based on the bag, based on outfit, just on a whim?

Also, you're pretty much the ideal person to ask about what you use your Calvis for? I'm gathering ideas of what others use them for... FWIW, like I wrote recently, I use mine to keep 1. my daily "kit" of misc must-have stuff (a few meds, bandaids, couple of handwipes, breath strips etc.) and i occasionally stick a credit card and drivers license in there if I need to run out without a handbag. 2. sometimes I carry a second Calvi just for receipts since my wallet is very small. 3. extra store cards, membership cards etc.
What are your creative ideas with your collection?

Gorgeous!

Methinks you need to track down some sexy Ostrich, Peau Porc and Swift to complete the leather collection!!!

Thanks! And yup I’m trying to track down an ostrich and a Porc. Didn’t know they still make any in Swift but will search for an example of that too. I think the Porc will be the hardest to find. I missed them when they made a few Calvis in Porc last year. I’ve asked my SA to keep an eye out for one for me. She’s really getting into helping me build up my Calvi collection lol. I know I can find a Porc calvi from a reseller but would prefer not to go that route right now.

The rouge Piment is my most recent purchase and I haven’t had a chance to use it yet but I love the color. I think madam is similar in feel to Epsom. Maybe a touch softer in feel. Seems to be wearing well so far. I don’t match colors of my SLGs with my bags. I like bright and contrasting colors so I can find them easily in my bag especially when I’m using one of my bigger fit the kitchen sink kind of bag. I think that’s why bleu Brume is currently my favorite because it really stands out when I look in my purse. I use mine primarily for credit cards and cash but have also used them for holding spare tissues, hand wipes, microfiber cloths for my sunglasses, Meds in little ziplock bags, rings and other jewelry if I want to take them off and don’t have time to run home to leave them. The little ziplock bags prevent the rings etc from scratching the leather and I think it’s less obvious than having a little silk jewelry pouch in my bag.

Genius! Thank you for those ideas :) Tissues and rings are spot on... I never have a place to put my rings if I'm eating something super messy!
I love the bleu brume too (!) I just wish the verso were a delicate color.
If you think of it, would love to know how the madame RP feels once you use it. I don't prefer Epsom for my SLGs so if it's Epsom-esque I will probably pass - too rigid for me.

I’ve used my rose Pourpre Madam calvi a lot and it is quite close to Epsom imo.

I’m not sure if there is a Swift design in current circulation, but a couple of the special releases from the men’s collection have been swift - the robot stamped design and the sailor tattoo I believe.

Porc is totally amazing. It’s my absolute favourite. The patina process is much more subtle than Barenia but has given a real depth and sheen to the Calvi the more I use it, especially around the edges where I grip it.
