IMG_4753.jpg I already have a calvi which I find very useful, but it looks that it may be an excellent idea to add a Bastia. I don't carry coins as such, but for other small things.
Now the question is would you go matchy matchy or contrasty? My calvi is Rose azalee

I have a light blue Calvi and a brighter blue Bastia - I find I grab the wrong one all the time, as they are too similar in size, in the half-gloom of my bag. I personally prefer my SLGs to be a rainbow rather than matching.

I vote to play more on colors ... I have five calvi but one yellow bastia only and find out I spend more times with bright color than dark items.

Does anybody know, how often Hermès add available Bastia/Calvi colours on their EU website? Is it per season, or just happenstance- which I'm beginning to suspect? They've had the same 17-20 colours available for a couple of months now, occasionally adding the odd colour that gets sold out right away. I'd like one or two Bastias, and maybe a Calvi, in a true red (not orangey) and purple or hot pink but I have only seen pre-owned Bastias in these colours.

I talked to an Hermés SA where I live but they had even fewer colours to choose from in the stores and he advised me to keep an eye on the website instead. And I do, but no real reds, purples or bright pinks so far.

Are there other colours available in for ex stores in Paris or is the stock you see on the website the same as in the EU stores?

They show up randomly with no rhyme or reason. The USA site typically only has 2-3 colors available so 17 sounds like a dream! Each store has a random supply at any given time based on what corporate sends them. There is no set full catalogue. The online website is like any other store location with random supply too.

Thank you :flowers: I guess I'll just have to keep stalking the EU website. I saw the US site's meager offerings and now I'm feeling slightly fussy not being happy with 17-20 colour choices

Hey Guys,
i want to buy a bastia but not for coins. i would like to put my car key fob in it but the problrm id i don’t know if it fits. tried it in my calvi but it wont fit. can someone take a picture with a car key fob in it and post it so i can see if it fits thansk

I have a Calvi in Chevre Mysore and multiple Bastias, including some in Epsom, which I agree is probably the toughest for daily wear. They are all great. I gave us on my wallet after buying the Calvi, and I never thought I would. It's just so easy.

I use my Bastias for: corralling headphones (I use wireless for iPhone, but prefer wired for my laptop), my keys in (so it doesn't scratch the softer insides of bags like the Evelyne). When I do usual work travel, I usually take one for GBP coins and one for EUR coins. Etc.

If you are in SF, you can try the Palo Alto store. The SAs there are always friendly. Just don't go during rush hour. I will say they don't always have the best selection of colors, and generally don't order shades of red for SLGs at all (explained to me as due to the store being frequented by the Chinese tourists, who can view red wallet-type things as bad luck).

This would depend on your car. Your best bet is to take it to the store and try it.
