what is up with these sellers? I asked a question to a seller who is showing as last active this hour and is posh ambassador. no answer. my question was about wear. If they aren't the original owner and can't say how much the item has been used, why not just say that. something like - "I'm not the original owner but looks good to me" or whatever

seeing that she was active this hour, I just created a bundle with the one item and asked the question again

does creating a bundle obligate me to buy?

I don't understand why they won't answer questions. It's weird. It does no harm to write a short reply and it may sell your items quicker.
So sorry you're having such rotten luck with these uncooperative sellers.

Did you find out the answer to this? I'm curious to know, too.

Not poshmark but other sale platforms where I buy antique knickknacks like vinyl players and typewriters: If a seller does not reply in a timely manner to questions that could be answered fairly quickly, I tend to move on to another seller. I take it as they are not that serious a seller anyway and the insecure side of me would wonder if they would actually follow through with the sale and whether their descriptions are accurate.

However, if the question was for more photos etc., I do give sellers more time to reply, like several days because I understand that the item might not be with them at that moment. Don't stress it! If the item is meant to be yours, it will be :D

I didn't get an answer about bundles but apparently Posh creates bundles for you when you like something so I don't think it's like an offer - no obligation
This seller did answer my questions after a day or so. I made an offer just a few dollars under her price. Part of the reason I didn't just pay FP was to see a response - rather than buying something and not having it shipped.

So this is a pro seller with thousounds of items for sale and multiple love notes. she has been active since I made my offer and no response. How do you not see an offer? How do you not counter when the difference is literally a few dollars?
I could try again since these are the size boots I want and the others for sale are a half size larger (would require in insole)
I just can't believe a seller like this who obviously isn't just selling out of her closet (lots of different sizes) would be taking the offer personally.
I thought maybe if she forgot to respond she would go make and make me an offer to buy but no one has ever done that yet.

I was thinking forget it but reading her love notes, people have been happy with her merchandise and shipping.

I am not that seller so I can only guess. Since you said that she is a pro seller with many products and different sizes on sale, could it be the case that she intends to run it like an online boutique such that the prices are not up for negotiation?

Also, I understand your rationale about wanting to gauge the seller's response before purchasing by sending a counter-offer. However, when I see that your counter-offer is just a few dollars below the seller's price, perhaps the seller took it the wrong way? As in, if you can pay x dollars, why won't you pay the full price?

Perhaps you could add a bit of your rationale for the counter-offer like your concerns towards the product or shipping and add that you would be more than happy to revise your offer if your concern is dealt with etc. to see if the seller is eager to assist? From my experience of online transactions (for antiques tho), sellers that are eager to help are generally also sellers that ship the item promptly with safe packaging. Those that are rather lousy in communication from the get-go are also those that give me headache for several weeks to come until the package finally arrives, which by then I'd have already had pages of emails with them chasing for the item, clarifying shipping details, chasing for tracking no. etc.

Don't read in too much if the seller just won't reply. I'm sure there are better sellers out there and that you would find your ideal boots soon!

I found a trick to see how long items are listed on posh and these have been on there since 2021. I sent her another offer just a bit higher. I just don't see a pro seller taking an offer under FP personally....don't you want to sell your items?
I could go ahead and buy it at FP but then I'd have to wait and see if she ships and then cancel if she doesn't. I'd rather know if she isn't going to accept my offer so I could make an offer on another item if she doesn't want my money. thanks for the advice

she was last active four hours ago so it's not like she doesn't go on Posh

Waiting for a seller's reply could be really frustrating! But if the item is from 2021, could it be that the seller no longer has those in stock (?)

Perhaps wait for a bit more and if there's still no reply, you could safely move on to another item and seller? You could be saving yourself weeks of hassle to follow up on your order if the seller is not good at communication! Best of luck in your boot hunting :flowers:

she did answer a question about them so I think she has them. Her profile shows a university. maybe she is young and immature? I just know when I get an offer unless it's ridiculously low, I will engage in negotiation. Last night I made my second offer. Posh showed that she had been active in the hours after I made my offer and nothing. I felt like withdrawing the offer but I'll leave it there until it expires later today. Maybe I'm being stubborn too but I don't want to "buy" them for full price and have to wait a week to cancel if she doesn't ship.
One interesting thing - she has them on ebay too. same price with no offer option and shipping is higher. so maybe her price is firm. but you'd think she could put that in the heading if so. there is an offer option on Poshmark.

I think it is not worth your time and energy to pursue this any longer. Even if she accepts an offer that you submit vs purchase outright, she can still delay shipping and you would need to wait 7 days without shipping to cancel regardless. I think it is not worth your wasted energy honestly.

I finally got a response out of her (I know I'm OCD for pursuing this). I sent her a question in a bundle. she said she saw my offer and can't accept less than her full price. Says she just lowered them. We are literally four dollars apart. and according to what I found, she has had these listed since 2021. The are priced lower than others of the same style but so what? those haven't sold.

I can see both sides of this thinking, what difference will $4 make to you?
In reality, it's the shipping cost (or most of it) so it makes a difference to both of you.
Looks like she's not going to budge and you should just BIN if you really want it. Otherwise, move on because there's no room for negotiation within that $4 margin. The mental energy wasted isn't worth it to haggle at this point. :flowers:

exactly.....there is no sense at all in trying to change her mind....four dollars is very little. Frankly at this point I'm just not happy with her. The lack of communication when I could see that she had been active on Posh. I think I would have been ok with her countering back at full price or one dollar off, rather than ignoring me until I prodded her. I actually like negotiating.

Right now she is the only one who has these in my exact size. These are boots that were discontinued years ago but they're so comfortable and I get compliments on them all the time. There are four others listed a half size up but I should probably either just pay her price or wait for another in my size. She does have over 100 love notes so she would probably ship them - and hopefully not take too long.
At the end of the day it's a business transaction, not personal. I just find it hard to understand why a person like her who sells thousands of items (therefore, has a business) is being so unprofessional.
Thanks for touching base with me :)

I will never understand why it gets so complicated. These sellers just annoy me, lol.
These sound like wonderful boots and I hope you'll post a reveal whenever you get a pair.
Personally, I would buy hers because they're the correct size. However, if she has upset you enough that you don't mind going a half size up, then you may prefer going with a different seller.
Thanks for touching base with me
I only wish it wasn't over some seller being difficult! :flowers:

I recently had three experiences with Posh. First was a bag. I made an offer substantially under asking price. The price was on the high side. We negotiated back and forth and I got the bag for a price in the middle.
Second was a top that I know has been listed for about a year because I was watching it. I wasn't sure I wanted it but decided it's in season and I'd take a chance on it if I could get for a good price. I made a lower offer and she immediately declined. Really? You've had it listed for a year and you won't counter?
Third experience was the same style/brand of top. I negotiated and got for less than listing but close to what seller number two wanted for hers.
That one hadn't been listed for long so I didn't expect to get it for as low a price as what I offered the other seller of the same top, different color.
I feel like messaging seller number two who declined my offer "thanks, I got another top same as yours"
But I won't do that

I understand some offers aren't acceptable but why not try to negotiate?
Both of my successful negotiations were with what appear to be pros. the one who declined was selling stuff from her closet and kids stuff. Not saying there aren't plenty of small sellers who are reasonable but I think pros are less inclined to take lower offers as some sort of insult.

I recently received a top from Posh. It's a nice top that retailed for around $125. Not NWT but no obvious signs of wear or damage. I was surprised when I received it in a plastic flat rate envelope rather than a box. I was very wrinkled. Not a big deal; I'll wash and iron it. but it seems to me that it could have been damaged in that envelope and also that could be part of the reason it's so wrinkled.
Since I pay the shipping and Posh provides the label, I don't see what the seller would have to gain by doing this. Unless she just happened to have that bag on-hand and not a box. She appears to be a pro seller with a lot of items. Am I missing something?
I haven't decided what FB to give. I was happy that she was willing to negotiate on price but not so happy with the shipping.
