having this issue again....I made an offer almost 24 hours ago on a pair of shoes. I know she's had them on there for over three months because I had asked a question about them three months ago. she did take five days to answer the question. these would be a pair of back up (dupe) shoes so I made a lower offer because I'm not sure I need them. but for the right price, it wouldn't hurt.
I don't get people. Her price is good but they aren't selling so if she doesn't like my offer, why not counter?
Perhaps a blessing in disguise. She may just not have much time for selling on Poshmark, a lot of people do it extremely casually, and it is hard to keep up with notifications. If you purchased them, perhaps she would not ship them, or wait a week to ship them, and then you would need to worry about that. Maybe just let these ones go.

there are two pair on there - hers she said were never worn. the other pair the seller said they are in almost new condition but have been worn.....I guess for the right price I could try the second pair but with shoes I prefer never worn

the seller I made the offer to has a lot of items for sale and avg ship time is one day so seems like she'd be an ok seller if she did accept

I "liked" an item a couple of days ago. got a lower offer from the seller. countered yesterday. It's now two hours from expiration of my counter and nothing. I don't get these people. If you don't like my offer, counter back. she could counter back at full price. It's not personal and we're not far apart in price. maybe she's busy. I'm compulsive on these things so people who don't respond frustrate me.

not sure exactly how this works but I'm thinking the seller may have sent the offer to all her "likers" then forgotten about it. When I countered, you'd think that would be in her email but maybe she didn't see it or was busy with life. system shows she was last active two days ago.

So…ordered a cashmere sweater via offer. First offer was quickly accepted by seller-no issues, payment goes through. A week later she cancels my order-no explanation. So today I go on her site-item still available, so I try to offer again and it says “Sorry! You currently cannot make an offer to buy from this seller”. So I think thats weird. Then I go to send a message about the cancelled order, and it says I cannot send a message to the seller. Ummmm, wtf is going on? Seller’s remorse? Cannot think what else it would be? Anyone else experience something like this?

there are some weird sellers there....I had one who I'd been asking questions to about a bag. she answered my questions and then when I made an offer, she took the bag off - shows not for sale now - been that way for many months. It was for the best for me. I was going to buy a bag with a tear in the edgecoat and ended up getting one in much better conditon on TRR.
what method did you use to try to send her a message? I thought the only way was on their sale board.

Yup, tried on the sale board. I figured it out, I think. I think it is the same seller that I bought stuff from on ebay, also cashmere sweaters, that are now almost a month past due delivery date, and I had started inquiring to this seller about the package and a refund. Oddly she cancelled my order on PM BEFORE i contacted her about my lost ebay package…and the feedback there is now littered with “this seller never sent my items” and “this seller sells fake items”. So, yeah, guess I dodged a bullet on PM, while I let Ebay get my refund on that platform…

It also sounds as if she probably blocked you.

Most likely that is a kind of “scam”. (I quote because I will explain later down below.)
It’s actually quite common for these kinds of sellers to set up shop and immediately close (or close in a very short period of time.) when they make a sale. A lot of Etsy sellers who sell “inspired” or dupe items do this as well.
That way no one can find a way to contact them and it’s even hard for the website itself to find them. They do this so that they don’t get caught selling copycats or fakes. As in they won’t get traced back as the source.

Most often they are from China (and that’s not me saying this, it’s my husband who’s from Shanghai).

Now the reason why I quote “scam” is that sometimes the item actually does show up, months later. Because some of these sellers are actual sellers. They have actual warehouses and stores in China or at certain locations. They may not be the most honest people but they do sell the products they market. Now whether that product is genuine or not is still up for debate. Because if it was real, then there really shouldn’t be anything to hide…

In the past, when I used to buy dupes, I make the mistake of purchasing from 2 of those sellers on Etsy. (I bought from them at the same time.)
For one seller, my item never came and I tried to contact the seller through messages a couple of times. No response. Then I went back to the the seller’s page and it was gone. It was as if that person never existed.
I flipped a switch and went all out. Screenshot everything from my messages to the “tracking” that appeared to bounce randomly and illogically back and forth across the country. I filed a claim to Etsy and got my money back.

For the 2nd seller, my item also never appeared to come. They were dead silent with communication and tracking just said shipped. My boyfriend (now husband) told me to cool my head and just wait. Weeks later, to my surprise, it came.

Now it wasn’t like it was a lot of money. I think they were cell phone cases or something and probably like $50 total. But i personally do not take scamming lightly having been screwed over when I was very young and naive in my teens.

Anyway, lesson learned. When I see red flags for those kinds of sellers, I don’t even bother looking at what they have.

Yeah, some of the sellers there... UGH. I bought a Balenciaga wallet and the seller refused to ship until she got her money. She accused me of trying to scam her! :whut: Demanded I pay again, directly thru Paypal or she would not ship. I explained in detail how the process worked but she refused to budge.. I asked her to cancel the order then & release my payment and she refused to do that too. It took a few weeks to get my money back. The same thing has happened to me on eBay.. Sometimes it's a scammer but sometimes the seller just doesn't have a clue about the process.

When I saw this topic, I thought it was going to be about all the fakes there lately.. It's been terrible. You can tell they are all the same person, under multiple names, same items listed same photos etc..
In PM's defense; I have reported the users for counterfeits, entire closets of fakes relisted daily. PM has removed them pretty quickly, an hour or two and poof so I'll give them credit for that.
