Congrats on your Speedy!!! This was my first LV and I love it how it hold a lot and easy to clean. Enjoy your bag.

Thank you! Please share your tips in cleaning the canvas. Maybe just a damped piece of cloth ? ImageUploadedByPurseForum1409858618.625383.jpg
Also I used alcohol free wipes to clean the dark spot underneath the handles. It looked a lot better now but I think it's a little bit dry due to that.
I just hope it will get shiny from the natural oil from my hands in time.

I think pre owned is great if you are very careful about where you buy. Very careful, lots of pix, research, questions, there are ebay fakes like crazy, but many honest sellers with good prices. I have 8 LV bags, one wallet and 2 accessories, mono, epi and denim. I bought them all used in excellent condition. The only LV bag I got new from LV direct is my Damier Alma. It was sure fun when that package arrived! I do wonder at what point the "peeling and sticky" issue starts, as some of my mono bags that are old but in great shape have the linings that go bad. Enjoy

That's true! During the course of bidding, it's so stressful as you have to do the research for yourself, set the limit on how high you can bid.
First time I gave up as the process is eating up much of my time so I bought a new one the next day!

I prefer bidding from a private seller.

I hope my bag will last another 6 years at least, or even more.

Btw, IMO, whenever you buy a pre-love you tend to be a little expert about the bag because of the researches you did. You won't get this knowledge when buying from a boutique because you know already that's it's genuine. 😜
Thanks for your share of experience here 😘

Yes, exactly! The only reason why I bought preloved items is because of the price difference. I bought two Balenciaga bags in May this year for about 65% of their original retail price, (when comparing to current price is like 50%).

(Big) BUT, NOTHING beats how new bags make you feel: the excitement you get when you untie the bow, the knowing that your bag was touched for the first time (like a virgin ♪♪~), not to mention the "commitment" you made to the bag that you are going to love her and take care of her for a long long time. You simply don't get the feeling when you buy a preloved bag or as much. And to me that's the whole point of owning a luxury item, they are different, they are not supposed to be treated badly, their main function should be making the owner happy and be an eye candy.

So I ended up selling the only two preloved bags I got, one of them is hard to find, so the demand for that bag is very high, I had no trouble selling it, I missed it dearly, but the only regret I have is why I didn't buy it when it first came out, I don't regret selling it at all.

Happiness is not about how much you have, but how little you need.

Absolutely agree!! Nothing is better than opening the nice brown boxes and smelling new untouched goodies.
I also tried some preloved bags and learnt a lesson. Then I bought preloved only LE or discontinued lovely pieces, but I have to admit that all of these preloved LE that I wanted I have already found and bought (Alma vernis in Bleu Infini, Alma BB vernis Givre, Wilshire Vernis Rose Pop) and now I am only looking forward to buying new pieces.

I buy pre-loved, But it has to be in excellent nearly New or hardly used condition. Sometimes it's the only way to get those LE pieces that you should have, would have purchased New! I would say at least 70% of my Collection is Store Purchased, the other 30% pre-loved! :cloud9:

Truthfully I enjoy the hunt and the savings. I do know that one needs to be careful, Most of mine are preloved and I love and cherish them just as much as my store purchases.

I'm not against buying pre-loved, but I never ever see the amazing "deals" that people here always claim to get. Maybe it's because I'm scared to buy from e-bay, and all of the "authenticated" sites like yoogis and fashionphile seem to be a ripoff for what you're getting. If I'm only saving $100-$200 on a bag, I'd rather just buy new and have the piece of mind!

I do have to agree here. Under a six hundred dollar savings I would rather save and buy new. Of course unless it is a discontinued item.

Same! I'm looking for a pre-loved speedy as a "knock around" bag for work. (Nothing against the Speedy! I have 3! Hee hee) For an extra $200 bucks I could just buy new and feel much better around the purchase. Maybe I better buy before the price increase..

That's true ! those sites you mentioned will only save you a few hundred dollars. That;s ridiculous. Some sellers on ebay are doing the same.
If you save a lot, like 50%,mostly dirty, scratched etc.:graucho:

I'd only go prelove if i'm saving 40% or more (excluding taxes) on the current price and in good - excellent condition.

I just recently purchased a never full (made this year) and barely used for only $700. I saved $600 including taxes.
Yeah me!!!

That's very rare! hahhaa! you're sooo lucky. That bag is meant for you. I saw your post at" authenticate this' thread, and was happy for you when you got it confirmed :smile1:

I always look at the percentage I would be saving in comparison to the retail price. For instance, if I was only saving $250 on something like an Empreinte Speedy, which retails for around $3k, I would rather purchase new. But if I'm saving $250 on a Pochette NM, which retails for I think $500? I would go for it as long as it was in good enough condition for the price since I would be saving 50%.

Agree with this. The saving has to be relevant to the item your buying. I bought my first ever LV pre-loved, actually it looked never used. It was a MC Sarah wallet and I saved $400 off new price. If I was looking at buying a Capucines bag, which in Aus is $6100, a saving of $400 is not worth buying pre-loved.

Same for me! if I don't save much I say new!!👍
