Buying a Pre-loved LV ? regrets?

Does anyone have any experience with buying a pre-loved bag and taking it into LV for cleaning or repairs? Wondering if they offer this service if one were to purchase a bag through resale. I’ve got my eye on a pre-loved bag that has some scuff marks, but seems to be in great condition otherwise! That would be my only regret of buying a pre-loved bag, but it might be the only way to get my hands on one since it’s been discontinued.

This is an old thread but I just bought a NF Monogram from Fashionphile that will be here tomorrow.

Been stalking LV for a new one for a couple of weeks and found this one with a $600 savings. It does have a stain on the inside and has Cherry lining so I am going to turn inside out and completely wash the interior. Also bought leather cleaner & conditioner for the vachetta (which has a beatufiul patina) so I am excited to revive this bag.

Wish me luck!!
Hi! What was the age of the preloved item?

mi found a 2013 Neverfull MIF that looks great but only $300 cheaper than new…which would be a MIU. I’m wondering if it’s too old given the lower 16% cost difference?

I purchased both my Noe and Speedy 40 pre-owned on eBay, and my Speedy is from 1998. Then I recently took them both into LV to replace all of the vachetta and now they look brand new. And I saved a lot of money, too. Even with paying for the replacement of vachetta, I still saved money as opposed to spending for a brand new bag, and now I know they're not fake since LV accepted them and replaced the vachetta. Not that I had any question to their authenticity, but you just never know.

No issues whatsoever in having a pre-loved bag repaired. I don’t believe they offer a cleaning service, unless this is something they’ve started recently.

I know it's an old thread but my thoughts are, I have tried to buy preloved before about 10 years ago. This is back when it was worth buying preloved as the savings were significant. Bit were returned within the return period. They don't have that "new" smell and feeling also just can't get over someone else using it, putting their stuff in, dumping it God knows where etc, just ick to me. Also having to take the consignment stores word that it's authentic, I would never really know 100% even further authentication wouldn't ease my mind as there are so many fakes so close to real that images authenticated by someone else still won't be 100% guaranteed. So preloved is not for me.
For me to consider giving it another go it would need to be 50% off or better. I'm not laying close to retail or in some cases way over retail for someone's old used bag (or even near new bag they've still had it for however long).

I was told by an SA that without the receipt they repair for 400 euros. Makes sense because or else resellers could fix up their stock at no charge

No regrets, as it was the only way to get my hands on a discontinued bag, but it's not my favorite. The bag either has to be discontinued or the savings have to be significant. And the place I purchase from has to have a good return policy!

There’s no fixed fee for repairs, it varies, seemingly sometimes even with the same style of bag. Makes no difference whether you have the receipt or not, it’s not something they ask for. You wouldn’t get a complimentary repair from LV in any case, unless it was a manufacturer defect.

I buy preowned LV Chanel (and a few Hermes and other brands) all the time, 90% of time they are good buys and I saved lots of money, all of them are authentic of course and I have learned to authentic them myself on 95% of them, and would ask for help if I'm not 100% sure.

This is the only pre-loved bag I've ever bought. I have always loved the LV Ellipse PM bag but missed it the first time around. When LV started coming out with different shaped bags, a few years ago...it reminded me of the Ellipse. So, the hunt began! It took me a year to find an authentic, like-new condition Ellipse...but I did. Paid a bit more for the condition but a steal compared to todays prices. I use it everyday and has held up beautfully. I did buy a new long 16mm monogram strap and couldn't be happier!
