Docride's leather care thread is a good resource (in Reference). It's very hard to tell from one picture but that bag has severe color loss at the corners, where the top layers of leather are worn away. This will never go away even if it's one layer of scuff - you would need to apply color restorer every so often - but the question is how deep the scuffing goes. Once you are close to a corner hole on a Kelly, it's pretty much over :cry: It looks as though this bag may have a lot of dryness (sometimes fixable) and maybe cracking (not fixable). With The Docride methode and the vintage kit I worked on the Kelly. It does not look pristine but I could not be more pleased with my Green Box K28. Thank you for your consideration! Cheers!

Here's my raisin box Kelly from 2002. I used Saphir Renovateur to clean and condition and water proofed with Collonil Nanopro for now. Also waiting for some Luxury again products to pamper her with.

....I think you are experiencing the magic of patinated box vert fonce. You can use it like a neutral black but it feels, looks and behaves like a color. It is quite lovely and fun. Plus the gold gives a delicious glow and contrast. This bag is from ca. 2000. I have a BBK from the 1970s who is taking her sweet time at the spa. Once she is back I will tell you if I see and feel a difference in the box leather. If you are interested.Attachments
