Thanks, GK and chincac. I use the Saphir neutral cream on my shoes, but I think I will hold off on using it on my box bags. Wax is so tricky. I love the smell (weird?) and love polishing, but every time I have tried to polish an antique table or whatever I mess it up.Don't even get me started on when I tried to french polish my dining room table....total disaster. I ordered the Renovateur and will wait for that- I've only used Blackrock's and am curious to see how it compares!:smile1:

Juliet827, did you ever try the Renovateur? I am really curious how it compares to the B&O treatment. I have only used the B&O on my bags, but am out of Blackrock's and thought maybe I should try the Renovateur on a vintage box I acquired and swift?

Are we supposed to use the Obenhauf after the Saphir? Is it the same method, just switching the Blackrock's for the Renovateur? Thanks so much :)

Hi marbella - I love this Renovateuer! It's fantastic. I'm not sure about its interchangeability with the Blackrock's for the B & O process- I've never been big on the O part of the B & O, although I have tried it. But I'll bet docride will know. I plan to keep sing the Renovator- I love the feel and even the scent of it. Let me know what you think!

Thanks for your quick response. I posted the question to doc as well, because I want to figure out which to use for box, as well as Ardennes and Clemence, and Courcheval.

I am so happy to hear you like it. I will go order some of the Renovateur and let you all know how it compares with the Blackrock, as I did my BBK in the B&O and will do another box with the Saphir for comparison.

Few months back I found a vert fonce 1993 kelly. It was a little dry as you can see the closeup, I decided to acquire it and try working on it as a project using renovateur and polishing and conditioning over 6months. It's did help improve the condition quite a bit.

Great job! I think that renvateur is a wonderful product. I used it on my vintage black box spaced over several weeks when I first purchased it and it has maintained the moisture and suppleness of the leather,
