Here is another shot, tried to get the shine but just wasn't coming through. Now I'm looking for a 1980 era bag so I have all decades covered, haha...

This is simply majestic! :D so it's good to know the year of your rouge as it's so beautiful. Whatever issues you had with the handle hope they are now fixed. ( to me it looks perfect) I have a vert -something box and will try to take good photos. The ones I have look like black, but is not like that on real life.

Here are my three of four box bags. The Plume is 1995, the Constance is 1970 and the Kelly is 1964. I have another 1964 box Kelly that has been out for repair since April, grrrr.... You gals are super creative with your styling, I'm not and am having issues with picture size. Here is one pic, will post another in a bit.

These are just gorgeous. The red Kelly looks like she will last centuries- so well-preserved and lovely. And the Plume looks so buttery- like the natural chamonix (I think it's chamonix) I posted from 1994. Just yummy.

Hola box-fans! =))) :D

This is my baby from 1959 (she is the same age as my mom!). Sorry for the BK pic, it's one of the guilty pleasures :giggles:

Paper tiger, you have two 1950s bag in your family - that's so wonderful, as these bags we know now how well they keep of taken care of properly, plus they age beautifully. That they get soft and plush enough to have that sexy texture to stroke is so seductive, that's why I really enjoy the older box bags.

Would love to see your pics.

Sorry for the delay. Everything takes me forever to find at the moment. Can't get at the RHK but anyway...Also, I don't have my proper camera so I could only do make-do mobile phone snap shots. I hope they're enough to illustrate what I was saying.

I love seeing everyone's beautiful box bags!

Here's my much loved Brique box leather Le La.

I am not sure of the age as I can not find the code anywhere (if anyone knows where it hides on this bag, I'd love to know! TIA!)

You've got some very interesting bags there! The last one - what is the name, with the very interesting buckle? It looks immaculate, and I assume that is from the 70s?

Hi ladysarah, yes, I did dye the handle and corners and it became 100% better, in my opinion. But I've also watched your beautiful transformations of bags and those inspire me to give older box bags a second chance. Please do take photos of your vert box, that color is to die for, many of us would love to see it.

Thank you juliet827! I've wondered if my Plume is box or not. I had my suspicions but have never seen chamonix up close. I will have to look into it because I have had my doubts, especially since it doesn't shine like my other box bags. Purchased it from a reputable reseller so no concerns about authenticity but I've often wondered about the leather. Sorry everyone that I included it here, it's a yummy bag and love it but possibly not box calf. But thanks juliet827 for your input, wonderfully generous people on this forum :)

Still a hopeless boxcalfnerd :)

Oh wow. What amazing, unique bags! The last one I have never seen before - really beautiful, especially the closure.

I've never seen this either- how gorgeous and rare. And the leather...sigh. I wonder how old she is?

Pf- I still don't know if my "natural" bag is chamonix or box either. People say chamonix, but it has a sheen like box and also it has a gold stamp even though it is the exact shade of "natural" chamonix, which usually has a brown stamp. So I'm still wondering....but the leather and butteriness reminds me of your Plume, although mine does have a real shine. More of a glow than a mirror-like patina...I'm still not sure if it's box or chamonix.

Woe these are just beautiful PT! The first and the last one,- I forget their names - but they were both shown in the hermes leather forever exhibition. The first one as part of the expedition/travel range and the last was an example of fine bijouterie. Do you remember their names? Xx

:hugs:

Hello ladysarah

Funny you should mention that exhibition because I found out what the real name was of another 1951 (non-box) bag of mine (an Arceau). The information on a thread here had it incorrectly down as a Mademoiselle.

The first is a SacMallette. Basically a Sac 404 plus a hard jewellery case attached underneath that was used whilst travel. They came in 2 sizes and this is the smaller (26cm).

The nautical one, I have absolutely no idea about but it's one of my favourite. Thanks for letting me know about it being part of the bijouterie. I saw the LF exhibition 3 times and I didn't even notice!!! I know that it also came in natural box as well as black, I'm not sure it came in Bleu Marine too though. It' so great to have hardware that is both g as well as P HW. I absolutely  it. Anything that you or anyone can tell me, now or in the future, would be much appreciated :flowers:.

I was at Stuttgart H boutique today. There is a Victoria in leather that really looks like box leather, but not exactly. SA can't tell the name neither & just described it is softer than box. Is that another new version? Wish I can take a photo of it.
