Box Calf / Veau Box through the years #boxcalfnerds

I'm finally able to contribute to this thread though some of you are probably sick of my pics. Here's my Raisin Box dalvy from 2002, my new-to-me BBK from 1989 and my refurbished drag from the 1950's. Like others have said, the box from the 80's seems to be thinner and glossier than the box calf from 2002 which is thicker and more matte. The box from the 50's is almost a combo of both - thick leather but glossy and plush.

These are such exquisite bags in three ultimate H colours....raisin and RH are my favorite non-neutral colours hands down (and one can argue easily that they ARE neutrals). What a great eye you have!

Ohhhh that Drag is quite something. Well loved but still looking good - the leather is obviously thicker. The raisin is divine. Can't get enough of these pics!

Absolutely love your set! That's why I especially love the box from 50's/60's, they seem to be a perfect blend of thick and glossy yumminess

I have been looking for a vintage red box calf kelly for a while now and I finally found one I loved on eBay - here is my new to me brique box calf Kelly retourne from 2002! Paired it with a fleurs et papillons twilly.

I'm so glad it came  I got your PM. Beautiful bag and the contrast stitching is TDF. Anyone know the "rules" on contrast stitching on box? None of my box bags have it....yet

Swoon!! That contrast stitch is each outstanding feature in brique bags.
