Bottega's Unique Weaving and Treatment Processes

Not to be confused with the treatment on the previous post done on the Lido bag. This one uses the same materials - cervo fettuce and metal mesh yarn... but instead of both pieces being integrated, each one forms an individual fettuce.

Done on some SLGs (no bags). Available colors: Teal and Gainsboro (pictured below)

Adding the 3rd type of Cervo Perlato combination for reference and comparison. Available in Gainsboro (as shown) and Teal.

Passamaneria translated means some type of Italian trimming. Applied on some seasonal Knots and bags for F/W 2012.

Metal mesh material done in the standard intrecciato weave with some frayed parts. (F/W 2012 collection)

Flocking is a process of depositing many small fibers onto a surface. In this case, velour is flocked on classic nappa leather to create a textured effect on Venetas, Cabat and SLGs.

The titles have disappeared on the new tPF format so I'm attaching more detailed photos of the Nappa Velours treatment previously posted above - this time in Teal.

Intrecciato Profondo - new treatment from Cruise 2012-2013. Random parts of the fettuce are applied with tonal stitches creating a more textured effect. Colors featured below include Duchesse, Poussin, Krim and Appia.

Nappa Circle - small, brushed metallic rings are intervowen within the intrecciato. Available in select bags from both Men & Womens' Cruise and Spring/Summer 2013 collection. The treatment was also applied on some Women's RTW namely a leather jacket.

This is my favorite BV thread too and of course I'm biased but it has good reference information for those who may be on the lookout for something.
