jburgh - do you think it's possible to turn this thread into a sticky?

This is my favorite BV thread too and of course I'm biased but it has good reference information for those who may be on the lookout for something.

I'd like to, but we would have to let one sticky thread go...when there are so many stickies, people stop looking in the main area of unstickied threads.

I wish we knew more about this leather treatment, a cervo Veneta hobo from F/W 2003 ... I see this style pop up on e-Bay occasionally... and it's usually in Ebano.

What a great thread. Such a good introduction for the BV newbie especially. But now I don't just want a cabat, I want to buy one from a BV boutique while in the Veneto region, lol. That bag just got a lot more expensive :giggles:

Intreccio Graphic - treatment only done on the Roma bag for F/W 2012. A fine stitch detail is sewn around the perimeter of random fettuce creating a textured, three-dimensional effect.

Intrecciato Nappa Fringe Ayers Knot - quite a generic sounding name since a previous Knot series from 2-3 seasons ago also had a fringe and was called the same. This new version for Spring/Summer 2013 has much smaller fringes cut on the edges of the fettuce creating added texture to the touch.

Comes in 4 colors: Nero, Appia, Poussin, Antique

^^^ The above Knots are not to be confused with this knot series of the same name. This one had longer cuts, came out 2-3 years ago and each of those fringes actually stick out from the base fettuce as opposed to the S/S 2013 version where it's stuck to the body of the Knot.

Intrecciato Nappa Memory Butterfly - once again, another generic sounding name for a BV treatment but there's nothing generic at all about its current interpretation on a classic Knot, a Cabat and some SLGs (ie. belts, etc)

The actual butterflies on the Knot & the Cabat are made of nappa and ayers and are pliable so you can twist and tweak the position of the butterflies on the bag.

Nappa Vulcana - as the name suggests the standard intrecciato weave is applied with long strips and edges are left hanging free and loose on certain portions of the bag resembling an "explosion" of leather.

Rete Maille - thin strips of leather (not the standard fettuce) are painstakingly stitched on a base of a bag to resemble a mesh or network of leather.

There is also another version called "Rete Intreccio" where the same thin strips are stitched much closer to each other in a more linear, tighter fashion while the Rete Maille has a "loose and sometimes wavy effect".

S/S 2013's special treatment on a Lido Bag. I'm not sure if there is a name to the process but the BV catalog calls it the "Nappa Lido Bag".
