Just picked up my first Dior bag...a book tote. I’d spotted this pattern in Amsterdam in May but was hesitant for some reason. Less so after a few glasses of bubbles in New York this week.

And, because it is a book tote…

Curious to know from those people who’ve had one for a while, do they soften up at all?
Congrats :yahoo:. You can always count on bubbles to help you make a decision . The rich colors on this BT are so captivating. It looks so vibrant on your couch, and I love how your throw pillow coincidentally complements it.

I’ve owned my BT for just over a year now. Mine is mostly white, so I unfortunately haven’t used it as much as I’d like to, but it does seem slightly less stiff than when I first got it.

Yes it is the medium; not terribly heavy but my other tote is a Birkin 35 so...; yes cool toned (navy, aqua, purple, green and black); and I did not have it personalized. Hadn't realized that was a possibility and I was not offered it in the store.

I use a book tote in medium for most daily errands. After 2 months of daily stuffing, banging it around, it still has a lot of structure and stiffness, but softer than brand new. I chose a dark color (dark blue denim TDJ), and it's completely worry free. If handles get dirty, I'll just wrap willies around them, but this is my throw around bag.

LOVE this color and pattern!! I've had the black and white houndstooth one for a few years now and the front and back panels have softened a bit (they're just a little more wavy, if that makes sense) but the overall structure is sturdy and intact. I do use a clear acrylic base shaper on the bottom which I think helps maintain the shape along with providing some protection.

Hi all, just wanted to know your thoughts regarding this Medium Oblique Book Tote I bought in 2021 (in the Hawaii boutique). I don't use this bag much but I recently noticed there are this brown colorings in all 4 corners of my bag. I did some searching and some videos and it seems like it may be glue residue? Has anyone experienced this or is this my fault somehow? I feel like I've babied this bag and I even have an organizer before I started using this. Thank you!

Just wanted to know your thoughts. I texted my SA too and waiting to hear back from her.

Hi! Looks like glue to me…

edited to add I don’t think you did anything. Unfortunately this happens with some bags. Let us know what your SA says

It does indeed look like the glue used to hold the individual pieces together before the bag is stitched. It's something that happens with age (exposure of the glue to the elements). It's not that noticeable though, I have an old leather Flight bag where I cleaned the glue residue (it was very obvious on white leather) with lighter fluid but you definitely don't want to do that on the oblique!

I did want to provide an update from my post about the glue on my Blue Oblique Medium Dior Book Tote.

My SA made an appointment for me to show her the book tote in person. She took a look at it, took it to the back, and basically said they can exchange it for the same one if I like. I asked if it can be something different as I was afraid the same thing might happen and she said yes, just have to make up for the price difference if I pick something more expensive than current price. It also helped that I was still under the two year warranty.

I was debating between other book totes and even the D-Joy bag. But I actually ended up grabbing a small size book tote in the Blue and White Toile de Jouy Reverse Embroidery (and a purple card holder). I just fell in love with it and I was thinking of getting a small size one in the future anyway. She did show me their new Medium Book Tote patterns (the one with the map of Paris) and that one in Black really stuck to me that I was thinking of getting it for Christmas/Bday. I told her to expect me around November (my bday month lol).

Wow. The color combo is amazing, and you can use it with ease and don't worry about getting it dirty. So pretty. Congrats, wear it in great health!

This color combination and print is the most beautiful one IMO. Congratulations and enjoy all the books!
