Skphoto- Thanks for the offer. I would be very interested. I bought my necklace online and it didnt come with a certificate. What I do know is that it is VS1 - G color.

I know Miss D just received one as a gift and there was no certificate.

Maybe I should call customer service. To me - my .27 looks about the same size as Miss D's.

I tried to take some pics this morning but they came out awful blurry. Cheap camera! I will try again later to see if I can get anything better. Thanks!

Yup, I had to call customer service to request one and they said they didn't have them for mine as well - it's either ONLINE orders of ELSA PERRETTI DBTY don't come with Tiffany certs or ELSA PERRETTI DBTY doesn't come with a Tiffany's certificate in general (my DH spoke to her and he's hopeless with details etc). She told my DH the diamond's stats over the phone.

skphotoimgaes: I keep hearing that everyone' elsa peretti DBTY diamonds "sparkle like crazy" - how is your diamond? Does it sparkle a lot? I wonder how the certified GIA stones from BN compare with the uncertified Tiffany ones. . .

If my .19 was cut to look larger then I'm all for it! :)

However, I must add that even though it's not large, the sparkle on the little guy matches no other that I've seen. I hate to admit it but I think it's got MORE life than my 1ct e-ring.

Miss D - I was thinking the same thing! Makes me wish I had a Tiffany e-ring to match!

Oh yeah..mine SPARKLES!!! I think I mentioned somewhere that it is the prettiest diamond I own. I haven't had a chance to see a Tiffany's one out of Tiffany's lighting, but I am sure they are AMAZING. It's like I told someone else. If you don't want to have to pick your diamond, go with Tiffany's...you're not going to get a bad diamond. But if you have the time, know how, or this board to help you pick a perfect diamond..they can be had at BN..

I do know someone who just bought a 0.23 certified (and inscribed) Tiffany's DBTY. Interesting.

skphotoimgaes I am really impressed with how much you know about diamonds! I just got a DBTY from bluenile...When I picked my diamond I just looked at the 4 c's mainly because I didnt know any better lol. I think I am happy with my necklace but I dont know if I could do better for the price. If you dont mind would you look at my specs?

Carat Weight: 0.24
Color: E
Claity VS1
Cut: Very Good
The florescence is medium blue

The report also says 58.4% which i am guessing by the picture is the depth by 61% which I am guessing is the flat surface on top.

Im sorry if this is the wrong place to post but I figured since its a blue nile it might be appropriate to ask here instead of starting a new thread.

Thanks in advance

Oh how did I miss this!

Skphotoimages, I am so sorry to hear about your bgd necklace. Your BN DBTY Looks gorgeous on you and you are so pretty!

The only explanation I can think of is that the Tiffinys Diamond has a very shallow cut and with a big table. Then the diamond will definitely face up bigger. However the only way to find out is to have a Tiffiny owner to measure the diameter of the .12ct. As far as I know, 0.16ct BGD signature diamond should measure 3.35mm and when bezeled 4.35mm.

Kellymcd, the diamond you picked is too shallow at 58.4%. You want the depth to be at 60%-62%(max) and the table at 55%-57% but most important are the crown and pavillion angles, you got to get them right for sparkle!

Yes the BGD one was 3.5mm

kellymcd could you give me the report number (GIA or AGS) I can go look it up. If 61 is in fact the table and 58.4 is the depth, then yes it is a shallower stone. If the measurements are actually the opposite, then it could be a very nice proportioned stone. We really need to know the crown and paviliion angles as well though.
What matters most though is if you are happy with it! Given I bet you paid A LOT for the E color and VS1 clarity, I am hoping those measurements are actually the other way around though.

Woohoo, I'm so happy to hear this. I am DEFINITELY consulting you (if you have the time ;) ) or this forum when it comes time to buy my BN DBTY style necklace!! Maybe I'll get one for my birthday in a few months :graucho:

I think the numbers I gave are correct...meaning its shallow. The GIA Report number is 2115950760

I really appreciate all of your help everyone!

Maybe I should go up in size a little and down in color or clarity.

This stone was $381...and thats about my budget.
