I just thought from the jump when Bey came out she was being marketed as multi-racial which I take no issue with it was just odd that Solo never seemed to really market herself that way.

That's an interesting point.

I guess in Beyonce's case she fits the image of what is considered multiracial more than Solange? Or maybe Bey grew up hearing it and so it was more natural? I do find it interesting that many see Beyonce as trying to be white when I think she makes a point of strongly identifying with what's commonly perceived as black culture.

A lot of other races make a point of strongly identifying with what's commonly perceived as black culture nowadays. And, her making it a point is routinely ignored by A LOT of people and certainly by The President and FLOTUS.

But she's done so since she first appeared on the scene if I remember correctly. By the way some people take issue with her I wonder if she feels pigeonholed. Many, if not most female celebrities go lighter with their hair colour over their careers but she's publicly accused of trying to appear white. And how people make fun of her Creole background. I'm not a fan but I think people expect too much from someone who, after all, is only an entertainer.

Yeah, she and Timberlake only have one album left on their Columbia contracts. JT might stay but Bey will probably make the full transition to Roc Nation or go the independent route, IMO.

I was listening to an interview with Ashanti (by accident, I was in the car and was trying to figure out the voice on the radio) and she was explaining how much more money you can make being independent. That's how she was able to do the Christmas album she's putting out. I'm sure Bey would kill if she went that route.

I don't know if this was true for Beyonce but I know for a fact that this type of bullying happens

Yes it does happen. My mother is a prime example. She and all her siblings were bullied because kids said they thought they were better (due to their features) when in reality they were one of the poorest families in the neighborhood and they're only real concern was getting a decent meal and clothes that fit.

But in Beyonce's case, I've seen quite a few pics of her as a child and never have I seen that she had sandy blonde hair. That's why I gave the side-eye.

Watch your words  You think Columbia would let her go like >that<? Folks say it would go from #BeySeason to #SabotageSeason if she left.
