Justify My Love and Human Nature too!I completely agree. She's good. But she's no where near MJ or even Madonna. Deeper and deeper trumps Drunk in love any day of the week and twice on a rainy Sunday.

You make a good point. Coming from a generation where we were able to witness MJ, it's a losing battle. lol. I also think the music industry has changed so much that no one really has the ability anymore to ever reach MJ levels ever again.I completely agree with you. Dangerously In Love is a classic imo. I periodically pull that back out and listen to it as if it was new. I can see myself listening to songs from it when I'm 65. Will I consider Drunk In Love or Single Ladies a classic? No. But maybe this generation after me will.
Looking at it from that perspective, I guess she is this generation's MJ or Madonna, etc. But for me I need more time and she needs more longevity for me to acknowledge her in that regard.
So yea I think it's kind of a 50/50 split with me. She is certainly at the top of the game globally right now and has been for some years. But for me personally, I need her to be in that status for at least two decades. I dunno...

Not doubting you or your source..Just a question:According to what I was told...they didn't know, there was an exec who was brought in but most didn't know. I respect her hustle/gangsta on this last album. Now, I could've been told BS but doubt the particular person that said it was BS'n.
Honestly, I didn't ask that particular question...so I couldn't answer with any exactness. I only asked if they were really in the dark...I really found it ballsy/gutsy and it's admirable especially for a female artist. However, knowing from another friend, who is an independent artist, when his songs are placed on iTunes, it's through a distributor. He loads his music to the distributor and push it through to iTunes; it's a quick process and doesn't take long (24-48 hours). Purely speculation, it could be as simple as whoever knew at Columbia worked with iTunes execs to push through the distribution or her production company worked directly with iTunes. At the end of the day, it's digital music and it's all uploaded to servers...it's not as if it's an extensive process to load or download music. It can easily be done in an hour if the right call is made from the right person in her camp to the Apple camp. Not doubting you or your source..Just a question:
How could the deal with iTunes have been struck without her record label knowing?
AgreedThis convo remotely comparing Bey to MJ/Madonna has got to stop.
Beyonce is asleep at the wheel compared to those two!
She also lacks the effortless panache. She is 100% try-hard.

I disagree. MJ tried so hard to rid himself of his black features and Madonna developed a fake British accent. All were try hards IMO.
Well, if it is quality AND longevity she will have to beat Mick Jagger. Good luck!![]()
What has that got to do with it?.The conversation was about quality and longevity.
Time will tell but for now..they both ***** Beyonce.
