Beware of the super fakes

The bag is a fake, the only thing they cant fake perfectly is the authenticity card, to be more precise that round dot.

Check the dot carefully when you tilt the bag to the left it should be silver when you tilt it to the right it should be a light gold

The other things you noted could easily happen to real chanel bags, not 2 chanel bags will be identical .

Thank you!!
When I tilt the card the cc in the white dot looks like silver or gold depending on how the light hits the card.

Why do you say my bag is a fake?? Because the cc:s in the dot isn't perfectly centered or because you thought it was not silver/gold??
Please help me!!

hello-
I am not an authenticator, but I can tell you that vestaire collective has been noted in this forum to have sold fakes before.....so with that knowledge, I would use one of the outside authentication services. Your best bet is to use a service like authenticate4u.com and etincelerauthentications.com for only a few dollars. If you need to return it because the bag is not authentic, you'll need documentation anyway.

I wish I could use any authentication service online but since this bag is from 2014 (serial number 19xxxx...) they do not do authentiction online from pictures but you have to send them the bag. I live in Sweden so it would be very expensive. That is why I am trying to find some help here on the Forum.

I now about VC and them having a history of selling fake bags on their site. But many stories do not tell if the fake items acctually passed thru VC quality control after they were sold. Just because they have people trying to sell fake bags on their site does not mean that the buyer acctually recieves the bag...
I talked to VC today on the phone and they were very helpfull. I still have the oppertunity to resell the bag for €50 but I do not want to resell a fake bag...

The bag looks very good to me (the lambskin is lovely and super soft) but I am just trying to find out something about details that I found not to be perfect. I thought that every Chanel bag was perfect but even I found some "misstakes" on this one. So could this be a sign that it is a fake or do Chanel make small "misstakes" like these ones???
Does anyone have a Chanel bag which is not 100% perfect??

There are plenty of authentic bags out there that are not perfect-you see many posted pics with people asking if others would keep bags with this or that slight defect.

Can I ask if you got it for a good price-why did you not buy from a boutique or dept store?

I was going to buy a Chanel bag in may when I go to Rome Italy (there are no Chanel stores where I live) and then came the rumour of a 20% increase in Europe :-( I bought this on the 28th of mars for €3050 (the price today after the increase is €4260 which is crazy) on VC which I think is a good price. This was before I read about all these superfakes and it made me worry a lot.

I was nice to hear that there is authentic bags that are not perfect :-) Do you know anything about the auth. card and the white dot with the CC?? You can se on my pictures that the CC:s are not perfectly centered in the dot. Everything else is fine I think....

i'm sorry I don't know about that-but maybe one of the experts will weigh in...

Congrats on your new purchase

I share your concern since you are not buying directly from store.

As a reminder, we do not discuss or disclose details comparing authentic and fake bags here on the forum that help counterfeiters. Questions about authentication are only allowed in authentication threads for live auctions only.

If you have doubts about authentication of your new purchase, you can ask members for recommendation of authentication services but not authentication help. For €3K, I'd want to make sure myself if I were you

With the exception of some professional authenticators, I don't see how someone can tell if a bag is real or a super fake. I was in the Military and everyone knew which base area had all the counterfeit handbags. That was years ago so it makes me think of them every time I see "vintage" in a resale shop. I also sat next to a young soldier on an airplane last year and asked about her bag. You know a private and $5000 bag? She said she got it at the same base. I looked it over and could not tell. I just buy less and get them at The Boutique. But even today they were selling the last GST with out its card. It had been lost and now the bag was in demand. So a full price bag at a boutique and no authenticity card. I'm sure everyone is a large City knows where you can get a counterfeit handbag and it isn't the back ally any more. :graucho:

Some of my older double flap bags look perfect but I recently bought 2 boy bags from the Chanel store which are very far from being perfect.
I was just saying to myself "if I would of bought these bags anywhere out of Chanel " I would of been sure they are fake " it's just small details here and there but I'm terrified for when the time will come to sell them

I am so sorry if I wrote something or put some pictures up that I shouldn't have. Can I remove it??

Hi I just bought my 1st Chanel bag. A brandnew series 20 Classic m/l flap in Black Caviar leather. Then i saw something online. It showed that a real bag has an internal decorative engravings (on the round press studs) but in a 20 year old lambskin. Mine is just plain with Chanel Paris engraved around it.. Does this mean my bag is a super fake Or the newer Flap bags have a different press studs now? Please help me... thank you so much.

I would think that super fakes would even try to get the tiniest detail that they can right. It seems only an in person authentication with a trained eye can discern a super fake.

Per above, they don't discuss signs of authenticity here. If you are concerned about your bag, I'd use an online service like Authenticate4u.com or etincelerauthentications.com, they can help authenticate. (I think Etincelerauthentications will do it only if you send the bag to them)

If you bought a Chanel that wasn't from a store (authorized reseller like Saks/Neimans/Hirsch/etc or Chanel itself), I'd assume it is fake unless you authenticate it.

Just because a bag was not purchased from Chanel I wouldn't automatically assume it's a fake, I have 5 beautiful and authentic bags of which 4 bought of eBay which is considered the most dangerous place to buy bags :)
It's important to buy from a seller with feedback a and a good selling history.

+1

i have purchased a few from ebay and one from tradesy, no issues. i research for weeks - sometimes months - before i buy, so i know as much as i can about how the bag should look, where things should be, etc. you gotta do your due diligence before the purchase and not after, imo

I would assume a bag was fake unless I had it authenticated. I think with the proliferation of super fakes the safest bet is to assume it is fake unless proved otherwise. Just because a seller has good feedback and good selling history, doesn't mean they wouldn't let a fake slip by once in a while. What is the worse that can happen? "oops sorry, let me refund your money". I've seen bags authenticated here that have been determined fake but the sellers still have good feedback and selling history.

So I'm not saying every bag on eBay or reseller sites is fake, but to exercise caution, it is best to consider them fake until you get them authenticated.
