I forgot to mention the closest boutique is 4 hours away. Can’t really go and drop it off. That happened to me when I purchased something at the Chicago boutique they said that they don’t provide labels so I sent the item back myself using USPS. It was a pair of earrings so it wasn’t a big deal, but I would be nervous to send a bag. Can you go to a nearby boutique and return it? It’s prob going to cost $60 if not more to send back. I always prefer to shop Chanel through Neimans, saks or Nordstrom. I get a free return label with each purchase.
I recently purchased a bag also from the BH boutique and they refused a return label to me as well. Told me I needed to return the bag in person to any local boutique, which I ended up doing. They said it was because of the high value of the bag (it was over $14k), but now after reading this I am not sure if that was the real reason.
I will say, however, that this is not normal this store is doing this. Speak to a manager or supervisor.
I wish I could go to a store. The closest is 4 hours away. I did call Chanel and requested a call back from the store manager. Instead I got a call back from customer service manager telling me the same thing that no boutique provides any return label. I just find that to be unbelievable.
I am quite disappointed as the stress this created is sucking the joy out of buying my first Chanel. I guess could keep the bag, but would really rather take my business else where if possible. That can't be right, especially during a pandemic, that they are refusing to provide a return label. I have had boutiques provide return labels in the past, just as recently as last year. This isn't right, unless this is something very new.
That is good to know! Thank you for the heads up. I guess I will have to declare the value?I returned a bag through Fedex to Chanel last year (I didn't think to ask the boutique for a return label since I was shipping to a different boutique and it was after the 14 day return period... guess I was happy they were accepting the return at all). It cost about $60-70 and I insured it for the price of the bag. Because of the high value, the Fedex agent had to confirm the item was actually in the box and she also needed proof of the value (receipt) in order to insure it for the full price of the bag, therefore don't go to Fedex with the box completely taped up. If you do, and don't want to unbox it, they will not insure for the total value (from my experience).
Are you permitted to return to the boutique for a full refund? If yes, I'd make it a road trip, return both bags in person, and find the bags at a department store if possible.I am quite disappointed as the stress this created is sucking the joy out of buying my first Chanel. I am limiting travel at this point. It is not worth an 8-hour roundtrip drive. Wish I live closer but maybe it is for better that I don’t. :/Are you permitted to return to the boutique for a full refund? Yes, you will have to tell them how much you want to insure and the cost of the item. For instance, I returned a mini flap that cost just under 4K after taxes and I insured for 4K. I could have insured for less than the cost of the item, but I couldn't insure for more than the cost. That is good to know! Thank you for the heads up. I guess I will have to declare the value?

Thank you for the response. Was it recent and was it a freestanding boutique? That’s a strange response from CS that no boutique provides any return label. That’s not true unless it’s up to the discretion of the SA. I ordered a wallet as a gift for my sister from a boutique in Vegas and the SA sent me return label.
