Be honest--do you use the kelly as an everyday bag?

Yes, definitely! I like it as a nice complement to the office as well as dinner out. I even use it on Saturday errands:yes:

Speaking of kellys...after seeing Stars beautiful braise croc I am in LOVE!! How much does a 28cm run in Porus croc? If this is listed on another thread please point me in the right direction. thx!!!

I really like to change things up a bit, so while I don't use the Kelly daily, I definitely don't reserve it for special occasions--the 28cm retourne holds enough for everyday items and is very convenient to carry, although the Kelly flap thing does irk me if I'm in a hurry.

I now have a souple 32 kelly and love it! I also have the plume and bolide and love those as well - and IMO, they are slightly easier to use - getting in and out -- there is something magical about a kelly for sure - and I do feel the souple style does go better with my lifestyle...I did have a rigide 28 earlier and only used that for dress/evening/good...so for me, it did not earn it's keep in my purse wardrobe...there are many options though!

I use my 32 souple quite casually. It's a great bag and I would use it everyday except it's orange so I only use it when it works with the outfit. I have a retourne choc box on order and plan to use it as my main bag. I agree that a sellier seems more formal, but everyone is different.

I have a sellier kelly and when I first bought it I thought that the style wouldn't do for an everyday bag. But now I've got the hang of just closing it simply with the turnlock and letting the straps hang. The design of the bag, with its handle on the flap opening, seems awkward at first, but you get used to it. Now I use it for both casual and more formal events. I'm sure you'll love yours once you start using it.

Thanks for the compliment, Tangle! I love my mini Kellys. The are each 20cm and sellier. The navy and the black minis are box leather and the rouge H is courcheval.

Thanks again, everyone! This is like when I found friends who really do wear their Hermes scarves--it gave me the courage to stop treating them like fagile pieces of art and get them out where they belong.

gina_b, You know, I don't wear purple, and I don't wear yellow gold jewelry, but I go back frequently to look at the pictures of your raisin box kelly. That is one of the most beautiful bags I have ever seen.

LaVan, I love your pictures with your bags. I am similar in size to you so it gives me a great idea of how bags might look on me (off topic, but how do you manage to find such great clothes that fit?!? jealous jealous :smile1: )

depends on my outfit...if it matches my BJ togo! wish i had more kellys in a rainbow of colors to choose from. but i think i could totally use the kelly on a daily basis! i love how neat and well put together it makes me look when i carry it!

This has been an interesting thread. I had wondered the same thing..... about how easy or hard it was to get in to.

I also wonder how you all wear it... do you keep it buckled up? Or do you wear it like in this picture? A Kelly is the bag I'm dreaming of.....

Same here (mine is 32 souple in orange as well!).

I saw your beautiful bluejean togo in the "hermes in action" thread; that blue really does seem to complement so many colors.

Well, this experiment in secretively logging on to the purse forum from work has been fun, but I probably should not do this again too much in the future, LOL!

I don't use my 28cm black box everyday. I occasionally wear it casually but that's just once in awhile. It gets scratched easily which doesn't bother me since I know it can be reconditioned to look like new. I just don't like the look of a scratched-up bag when I go out to dinner or the theatre. If I had a Kelly in a more scratch-resistant leather I would definitely use it more often.

Kelly is really a great bag! I looks so elegant and classy. I just LOVE the look on people wearing Kelly:heart: !

It really depends on your personal taste. For my taste, I much prefer Birkins (especially in croc.:p ). I get frustrated by using Kellys with straps..etc. But I know some people/ my friends who have NO problems at all!
