I've been building my collection this year and I recently bought quite a few Celine bags. They were secondhand/vintage so I didn't spend as much as I could have, but I still prefer having more money in my savings account. I'm putting myself on low buy/no buy year, but preferably make this a set habit in my daily life. I've also been building my wardrobe, so handbags and clothes are the two big categories for me. Ban Island, here I come.

I've always had a mental list in my head of what I wanted and I realize I haven't deviated much from my rules or my list, so here's hoping this purse peace lasts. Clearly it's an active choice and discipline, rather than an unchanging state of mind that I don't have to work at. Gotta keep reminding myself I have what I want and what I need, so there's no reason to buy anything else.
I got the last two bags on my wishlist and I also picked up a few clothing items I've been waiting a while on. Trying to stick to a low buy overall and no buy for certain categories so I can shop more mindfully and make sure I don't buy what I don't need or I'm not going to use.

How about Ban Island 2025. I’m in. I’ve now got 14 bags, 4 of which are leather, model ‘Zoe’, handmade by an artist (Beargrass Leather) in Montana, the other 10 are a new and final love made from ‘luxury’ woven neoprene, model ‘St. Barths Small Tote’ by Naghedi. All were purchased in 2024 and have replaced anything I had prior. ETA: And I mean everything. Naghedi helped me reframe all I thought I wanted in a handbag.

I’m in for a 2025 ban island party! I intentionally purchased quite a few bags this year ti give myself some needed variety and to plug some gaps in my collection. But, I’m very good now at 40 bags total. I need to focus on enjoying what I have, not pursuing anything else new!

That's what I need to do, appreciate what I do have.
It won't be easy though!

I know I’ll struggle which is why I hope this thread gets some new momentum. I need the support!

And I really DON’T need any other bags for a while. So, I need to avoid my trigger which is looking at online bag shopping. If I just stop browsing, I’ll be just fine. I need to reactivate one of my hobbies for “dead” time. But I was ill over the last year and couldn’t do hobbies…so I shopped.

You know, I was thinking of this very thing this morning before work…. I touched up a hand painted walking stick for a friend and realized I didn’t get on the net at all. Need to find more to do than be on the net, definitely. What was there before the internet?

I’m fixing up an extra bedroom in my house as an “art” room for painting, sewing, etc. But, realistically, that’s only going to take up a little of my time. I need to start reading like I used to. That’s always better than surfing the web.
