Went a little crazy this year. I need to stay here at least until August - no more bags!
This year I bought:

1) Pochette Felicie noire empreinte,
2) Givenchy Antigona small,
3) longchamp mini la pliage,
4) Longchamp la pliage nylon
5) Coach pillow tabby
6) Coach beat bag
7) Alma Pm
and a bunch of other bags from Etsy and Amazon.

Need to just take a break until the fall releases otherwise I'll be pissed I spent all my money and can't afford desired bags.
So - ... kinda here to stop buying bags, so I can buy more bags. It made more sense in my head lol

Me too I am crazy buying since 2 weeks, only secondhand, but still. How can I resist a 40$ Coach bag, or 60$ vintage Gucci? Another Coach is coming my way in the mailbox right now and I can't wait! And I reserved a LV DE Marais bucket yesterday...

haha! Feel your pain!
And man, yes a $40 dollar coach is hard to resist.. it’s literally asking to be bought lmao

Is online shopping addictive because we have more urges to buy while waiting for delivery?

Here it is! From New Jersey to Québec, Canada.. the coated canvas is gorgeous. Not overly colorful and treated leather. Perfect for me.20210506_151335.jpg

Well Aloha people! I am checking in on ban island. I will be here from Jan 2022 to at least June 2022. Totally splurged starting on Black Friday of 2021. Awaiting my YSL LOULOU in black with silver hardware to be delivered.

Counted 25 bags and already selling one, to make room for the YSL.

I feel sated but you never know when the bug will bite, so I am registering for a 6 month stay. I hope I get a continental breakfast.

In 2 weeks, I bought a Chanel, 2 Givenchy and 1 Celine bag plus 1 LV wallet. This compulsion to buy started when i saw myself gaining so much weight and I felt that maybe beautiful bags can compensate that. I also loved Celine luggage for more than ten years but always shove the idea of buying aside.

My first purchase was a Givenchy Antigona, followed by Celine Luggage, then Chanel 19, then bought an LV wallet and Givenchy antigona soft at the same time. I was planning to buy a Fendi baguette but I begun to feel that I am having a bag addiction, like the bags are controlling me and they own me. I was spending a lot of time looking for pre-loved and brandnew bags, going to banks to pay and also fearing that my husband won’t be happy with my purchases.

What I did tonight is unfollow all IG accounts that sells luxury bags. I also started to click not interested on all the YT video that talks about luxury bags.

I feel more in control now and have peace. I am no longer interested with buying the Fendi bag. I am sharing my experience so that maybe others can learn from them.

Weeks ago, I seemed to be making progress of not buying handbags anymore. In fact, i made a conscious effort to watch or read about minimalism until i came across creating a capsule wardrobe and follow a vlogger. At first, it was fun and educational but then i found the vlogger having this designer bag, that designer bag, so here I am again, trapped in luxury shopping!

I have vowed not to follow fashion vlogger, nor watch hauls and reveals. In my case, YT influenced me the most. I have obsessive compulsive tendencies so I need to be really careful. This is not blaming others, as at the end of the day, I take the responsibility for my actions.

If I stop buying for the next 15 years, I’d say I have successfully curated a capsule wardrobe and have a sustainable lifestyle.

I just hope that one day, I can truly say that I have overcome my bag addiction and be a good testament to others who are struggling the same.

I'm so glad I found this thread. I have been on a handbag buying binge in the last two years. I have over 20 luxury bags (Hermes, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, YSL, Burberry) and some contemporary bags as well. While I love my collection, I know I can't keep going on like this forever. The problem is that I buy when I'm stressed, but I also buy when I'm feeling happy too! I'm looking to do a pause on handbag buying. I really want to just enjoy the collection that I do have. The struggle is real!

The struggle is real, indeed. So many temptations.

I need to control my buying too, not earning enough to support that, but it is so tempting to buy, not bags now, I am buying wallets, one after another, and don't need them at all.
I had a slip with my no buy rule by buying a denim jacket. I’m actually in Singapore now. Went to Marina Bay Sands. So many beautiful things. So many temptations. Thankfully, didn’t buu a single bag.

I've been building my collection this year and I recently bought quite a few Celine bags. They were secondhand/vintage so I didn't spend as much as I could have, but I still prefer having more money in my savings account. I'm putting myself on low buy/no buy year, but preferably make this a set habit in my daily life. I've also been building my wardrobe, so handbags and clothes are the two big categories for me. Ban Island, here I come.

I've always had a mental list in my head of what I wanted and I realize I haven't deviated much from my rules or my list, so here's hoping this purse peace lasts. Clearly it's an active choice and discipline, rather than an unchanging state of mind that I don't have to work at. Gotta keep reminding myself I have what I want and what I need, so there's no reason to buy anything else.

Question for y'all: what habits are you working on doing to replace handbag time? I need to get back into reading and writing, but I'm also trying to spend less time on social media and the internet in general. Sometimes I just need to stop looking at screens and go take a walk or exercise, or just go to bed/get up instead of lying in bed scrolling my phone.
