Can you guys lock me in here till 2nd semester 2019? Hermes got me acting like pookie from New Jack City and I need to be committed to this island. Don't even know how I am supposed to get through this semester when I already got my quota bag in August

Hi Everyone, just checked in Ban Island which needs must. Looking to stay on here until i get my habit under control.
I have just had my birthday and just bought Three Bags this month?! I don't know why i have the tendency to splash out like that.
The last count of all of my Handbags which comes to 38!![emoji55] which is more than 1bag a day in a month, so no more bags for a long while.
Thought of selling a couple but i honestly love them all. So my plan is to stay here until i part with a few bags first.

DDDC8AEE-ED67-4A8E-B096-69DF0F7FC748.jpeg I understand this completely. Always looking. Wanting. It is exhausting. But, I have managed to find willpower to quit buying. And, what bags I do have I am selling or gifting. I can breathe again. Yesterday I shipped off my one and only LV bag and wallet to consignment. I found they only stressed me out. So, I am down to three Coach bags. My favorite is, unbelievably, a vintage bag a friend gave to me. The Coach Baxter. I did buy a new Coach wallet (on sale) to match this bag. Attached is a pic of my bag & wallet. I love the quality and uniqueness of this bag. So, I think, for me, focusing on a really good every day bag helped me quit looking. So, other than the new wallet, I am on Ban Island with you. Feels good to be on vacation (from bags)!

I'm officially putting myself on ban island for the rest of the year! I just purchased the last bag I've really been wanting and cleared my wishlist on Louis Vuitton's website so I won't be tempted to check if anything else I want comes in stock. I'll start saving for another bag or slg at the end of the year but won't be making any more purchases until next year.

Hi all! I went on a little Hermes binge this year. I'm about to buy a house so I'm stuck on the island for a very long time since we also need to replace a car as well.

Luckily I have just moved to an area where people don't seem to have lux bags, so hoping that helps!
I find living in an area where people don’t have lux bags is worse. I can buy and wear whatever I want - so no limits. :-s If people actually recognized the bags, I might have to worry more about side eye and be a bit more discreet.

I think I’m soon heading to ban island! I think I am very very close to done with the exception of one lightweight large capacity carry on backpack or tote for travel. That’s it. I think. By Dec 1 for sure I’m going to ban island for awhile and focusing on enjoying what I have accumulated in a bit of a flurry of finds in autumn.

Hi all,

I need to be on ban island through Christmas because I have already got so many bags/slgs/jewellery this year. Everything was always “the last one this year” and I just feel guilty now. I had this realisation last year but went even worse this year for purchases especially as the sales here in the UK have been so good this year.

Even as I type this I still think in my head I need a luxury belt as I don’t have one, a mini dates bag by D&G or YSL and a new agenda. “Then I’m done”. Can you please help me change this “one more thing” attitude that I seem to have developed. I kind of wish I never started with luxury. It seems I can’t even enjoy normal shops anymore as I feel everything is inferior when I know that’s not the case!

I know what you mean. The secondary market is so cheap! The bargains available preloved are insane and so hard to resist. But I need to start doing that now.

You need to locate your trigger first. Is it excellent customer service, shopping experience at boutiques, hype, joy of bag hunting or maybe stress? After this you need to avoid the trigger. For me, it's the luxurious feeling of the leather. As long as I don't touch anything at the shops, I'll be good.

This thread has lost some steam. Anticipation of holiday sales maybe?

Let’s do a roll call. Who is on either a complete ban or, like me, a hard pause? If so, how long has it been since you bought a bag and when do you intend to break your ban / pause?

My name is Sparkle and it’s been 16 months since I’ve bought a bag. :whut: (I’ve been lucky to receive two unsolicited bags as prezzies from Mr. S during this time.) I intend to break my hard pause in the spring and purchase a couple new work bags.

 I’m with you - not buying anything for the moment, probably sometime after Christmas or perhaps in the spring I’ll maybe buy something new. I recently passed on two bags which are on my mental semi-wishlist (1 new and one as new) because I’ve bought enough stuff for myself this year, so I’m content to wait till they come around again - and they surely will. I bought a green garden party in August, having wanted one in (the right) green for a long long time, and I’m still very much over the moon with it. I think that helps ;) I’m also waiting for a scarf, but that’s all I want for the foreseeable.

How about your black Whitney? Was it 16 mo ago or a present from Mr. S?

This year I've only one bag in, which is Burberry, the last piece of Bailey's creation. I'd say it's intended exception. Apart from this, no new bag(s) purchased if I don't count the returned ones or store credited ones. I've Garden Party on the way too, though, but will see whether to keep it or not when it arrives, so I don't count it yet.
