My ds and I at the Killers concert last night, wearing our new t-shirts. Ds asked if he could get a t-shirt and on a whim I bought one for myself, as well. As we walked away from the stand, I gasped and ds asked me what was wrong. I told him I'd broken my self-imposed shopping ban. Lol! Did I need another t-shirt? Nope! Do I regret it? Nope! Every time I wear it I will remember my special evening with my son!

So now I guess we know how long I am good for a ban. 18 days!

That makes your shirt priceless! [emoji173]️

Can I say that I’m still on the ban island if I haven’t technically bought a bag?????!

Yes! I say you can.

I am still bag shopping free! I was sorely tempted by a scarf yesterday on Fashionphile. I am not on scarf ban, just bags. I gave myself some time to think it over, as I wasn't sure about the colors. I decided to go ahead with it, but someone beat me to it. Saved me from myself is more like it! :)

I had disposed so many hangers recently... and still have some extra, and will keep purging and, probably, will dispose more hangers
hope, same will happen in my kitchen, i just have too much of everything!!
i am cooking.
But i don't need that much of stuff!! Moulds, tapperware, lids, bowls.... :-s
Ksuromax, I went through my kitchen and did a major declutter a few years ago. Now I just have to stay on top of it. Everything has a place and I like that. It's much easier to keep clean and organized. We love to cook in our family so our kitchen gets a workout everyday.

That being said, a kitchen is probably the most challenging area to declutter because it's continuously in use. So maybe just tackle one drawer or cabinet at a time until you get done? Or if you are feeling motivated and have the time, do as much as you're able. Just don't burn yourself out. Or maybe have a friend help you. Sometimes it's easier when you've got two working together!

Warning: when I reorganize, it always looks worse before it looks better. So I try to do these projects when dh isn't around. Because my closet or kitchen will look like a scene of mass destruction in the middle of the project!

that's what my DH says when he catches me in the middle of the project:
- Has a grenade exploded here?
- Are we getting ready for the Bonfire Night?
- Again nothing to wear?
and some other 'funny' jokes
so yes, i do, too, try to do it when i am home alone.
I am working full time, plus my 'work week' does not match 'school week', school is on Sun-Thu, while i work on western week Mon-Fri, it makes things difficult, we have only 1 day off together - Sat, and spending it on housework is a shame, and on Sundays (when i am in) i can't progress hugely coz there's cooking, washing, and other routine weekly stuff, thus yes, i will have to do it in bits.
I am quite happy with my progress so far in the closet, i need to evaluate the scale of work in the kitchen and divide it into sectors i can cover in one go to get this part done as well. I'll make a plan and I'll get there! :)

Snipped.....

I am a disorganized mess in the non-common areas of our home. We have a 3 bedroom home. DH has his man-cave that doubles as a guest room (all neat and nice), and I have my craft/sewing room. He has the master bathroom, and I have the guest bathroom (we rarely have guests--when we do, I pick up the clutter). He doesn't enter my domains. My creative space gets messy very quickly.

One year my sister came to visit. We sent DH and dogs camping and worked on the room for 3 days. We took everything out of the tiny space. It filled the living room and half the garage! She helped me organize it and turn it into a proper sewing space. I got rid of more stuff than I thought possible.

I've worked hard to keep the space usable, but sometimes it teeters on the edge. DH and I both retired, but I feel I cannot really get in there and get stuff done unless he is out of the house. Sometimes I feel like I need to hand him $20, and tell him to go see a movie so I can get things done!

As we've all said, one thing that is helping me not buy is I'm really busy right now. So, my mind is distracted and I don't have the stolen moments to troll my favorite websites. LOL! Staying super busy is really key.

What's also helping is I'm focused on rotating in a few bags I love but haven't worn. I'm getting a little bit of that "it's new!" feeling each time I wear one.

With your schedule small sections definitely makes more sense. Sometimes I will sit and think about a project longer than the actual time it takes to DO the project!

If you spend 15-20 minutes on decluttering or organizing each day though, at the end of a month you will see a big difference!

I understand. My dh loves it when the project is complete but he's not a fan of the destruction phase, lol! And he's self employed so I never know when he will come walking through the door. If I'm hard at work I don't want to hear from the peanut gallery! So I will ask him to please refrain and put his blinders on and wait until I'm done.

I need order. It's just how I'm wired. When I was going through chemo (18 years ago) and dear friends were caring for our children, our home was extremely chaotic and got messy. I had an older sister who had been in a similar situation and she gave me advice that helped me through that season and beyond. She told me to turn dh's and my bedroom into my sanctuary and turn a blind eye to the rest of the house. When the mess got to me I could go to my room and rest in an orderly space. It worked and since then I try to keep our bedroom a peaceful, orderly space.

yes, definitely :)
...another brick in the wall

I've been working in my closet a little. For the amount of space I have, I have a lot of clothes. I just counted my dresses. After removing three to sell on eBay I have 49 dresses remaining. Now, I live in a northern climate where we have four distinct seasons so I have sweater dresses, mid season dresses, summer dresses. Maxis and shorter dresses. But still...
