I’m on ban island too, planning on making myself comfortable here for the next six months. I had a big year in 2017 with 3 Chanel purchases, two bags, one pair of loafers, plus I just bought a new Wallet from there this month..., I know to some people that’s not much but to me that means I need a break!

One of the bags I bought this year was my HG Chanel 2.55 so I’m really satisfied right now but it’s still hard to resist temptation.

@Sparkletastic, sprinkle some of that Sparkle Dust on me! I'd LOVE to be in Purse Peace! I am actually the closest I have been in ages. I still browse, but I cannot seem to find much that I truly want. Sure, there are things I'd like to have, but not things I WANT...you know the difference? So I am trying to enjoy the feeling and build on it. Remind myself I have a great collection. Enjoy what I have.

I have a few SLGs on my wish list that may or may not happen. I am in no big rush for them, and I have other expenditures coming up. It feels good to not be obsessed.
Congrats on it being obsessed!!! :ghi5: And, I completely get the difference. There are 10-12 bags I'd like to have. But none I'm motivated to buy. That's purse peace! There'll always be pretty bags. But, if we aren't hungering to add them, I think we're content.

But, I'm not going to assign any high mindedness to my current contentment. In the last 3 years, I've acquired 25 new (or new to me) handbags. All but two premier and all of them ones I hunted, considered and lusted over. So, it would be a doggone shame if I wasn't at least somewhat content. Lol!

I'm hoping this holds. I can get in a fit of "wanna buy a bag" in a hot minute. I need a witch doctor to put a charm against bag buying evil on my laptop!

I was at Costco this morning stocking up on grocery staples and I noticed they have my flocked velvet hangers on sale. I came this close to grabbing a box but THEN I thought if I continue to purge items from my closet I will not need new hangers. So. I need to do that and see how many hangers I can reclaim.

I also saw a few pieces of sparkly jewelry that caught my eye but I didn't do anything rash. I don't know if Costco jewelry is even worth looking at but it was very pretty.

Ha! We did the same thing! I also looked at some celevrt hangers on sale at HomeGoods and decided not to get them because I intend to keep purging. LOL!

I have no idea about Costco jewelry. But, I decided that when I get a bag urge I'll focus back on my jewelry. I want to pick up a few more pair of casual non stone earrings in yg and wg. That will keep me distracted.

You know what they say about great minds, Sparkle!

I had bought several of those Costco boxes and three 10-packs from HomeGoods. I also had the wooden hangers, plastic hangers, and dry cleaning hangers. Well over 150 items hung in a tiny closet. Not to mention whatever was shoved around on shelves.

I’m down to 85 hangers! My goal is to get to 75 total. If I can keep my bags within a shelf, I can lessen my clothing to 75 items. [emoji4]

I’m not sure if it’s because it’s guys who tell me this, but I’ve heard that Costco jewelry is decent. Some are certified, for what it’s worth. And if you get the cash back, it could be worth it lol. But it’s only worth it if you were looking for that to begin with.

I have old returns to make but it won't be happening today. Too cold here. I cleaned out the pantry (not a full clean but a bit of reorganizing) to make room for two new appliances: an air fryer and an instant pot. We gave our eldest daughter the air fryer for Christmas and she tried it out last night. I have to say, I was impressed. Her first two efforts, home made French fries and chicken tenders, were delicious. Everyone loved them. I haven't used my instant pot yet so can't comment on that.

I have been bombarded with sale notifications via email but am just deleting them. My house already feels cramped so I don't want to bring anything new in at the moment!

I got an air fryer too! I’ve gotta try it out next weekend.
Me three!!! Got a convection-toaster oven w air fryer function!!! No idea if it'll work yet...

I do have a wall calendar, an inexpensive agenda type notebook planner/calendar that I picked up at TJ Maxx and I definitely use my phone calendar. All three work in different ways to help keep me on track.

Almost 18 (!) years ago I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. The doctors were not optimistic and told dh to plan for a future without me. Poor dh, our children were only 10 weeks, 4 years and 7 years old. By the grace of God, I am still here but the treatments I received changed my brain and I frequently forget things. I'm only 52 so I've been forgetful since my 30's. It can be embarrassing and I have shed tears over this but then I remind myself, I'm still here!

Back to the calendar/agenda/planner situation... They are all tools. Figure out which tools work best for you and then put them in place and USE them! I would never talk you out of a purchase that makes your life work better for you.
!!! That's wonderfully amazing, your recovery! Wonderful story!

I'm doing fine, too, i think i will add shoes/footwear and slgs to my ban as well.
i've been sorting out my stuff and i have way too many of them...
Yup... If anything I *think* I'm leaving toward a shoe ban, unless replacing, since I'm definitely out of space on my racks... and haven't even unpacked/re-put-away my summer shoes yet!!!
I think I'm generally bag-content... but now that I've JUST started using tiny mini bags...:confused1:
I'm thinking this craze will end as soon as I get back to work in a cpl days!!! I always end up schlepping more than I think!

Good for you on your hanger reduction! Dare I count my hangers??? Maybe next week I'll tackle my closet. Today is my yoga class (wearing my existing exercise clothing) and tonight I am bringing our 18yo ds to a concert in the Twin Cities. Have you ever heard of a band called the Killers? They're actually pretty good! I told him I am the coolest 52yo mom there is, lol. (However, in a bid to save my hearing, I am bringing little foam ear plugs!)

Thank you, Pianolize! I am so grateful for my "bonus" birthdays.

My ds and I at the Killers concert last night, wearing our new t-shirts. Ds asked if he could get a t-shirt and on a whim I bought one for myself, as well. As we walked away from the stand, I gasped and ds asked me what was wrong. I told him I'd broken my self-imposed shopping ban. Lol! Did I need another t-shirt? Nope! Do I regret it? Nope! Every time I wear it I will remember my special evening with my son!

So now I guess we know how long I am good for a ban. 18 days!
