Pochette Métis. This is the one bag where somehow I totally fell for the hype and I wrote myself down for the waiting list and everything. By the time I got a call I was off it. Thankfully, because I have never seen this bag in the wild and liked how it looks...

Really? Which one exactly did you want? I have the empreinte leather one in the colour turtledove. Love it, although I don’t use it as much compare to my other bags .

Nowadays, depends on which work location I need to be on that particular day, I just put everything in my Neverfull, including my laptop.

1. Dior book tote. As lovely as it is, it's too structured and decorated for my taste.
2. BV the "dumpling" looking bag. One SA thought I was going to buy it. Like, I am not a fashionista and not practical for my lifestyle.
3. Givenchy GV3 - I love that bag. Wished they added adjustable strap and that bag would be mine.
4. Dior Saddle. When I was on the slender side, I had an "inspired" one (years ago). It was my perfect night on the town bag. Now It looks like a bean under my fleshly arms. Even so, I wouldn't purchase, it's a bit trendy.
5. Chanel 19. I don't like the chain, large quilting and structure. It's a bit smooshy for mytaste.

Cheating a bit here as I lusted after this bag and finally got it at a decent price second hand, but returned:

Balenciaga metallic edge city

I still today think it's a gorgeous looking bag aesthetic wise but when I bought one in the burgundy a few months ago in lockdown and tried it on for the first time ever it just felt... Somehow too loud and blingy? For my personal style anyway.

Also didn't help that the shoulder strap attachments /clasps kept clinking together during wear and being literally loud and noisy haha.

All my other bags have edge painting so was not a fan of the durability of the exposed raw edges of this bag.

I still might have kept it since I've loved the design for so long but the deal breaker was the undisclosed wear on one of the studs, the gold coating had been scratched right off and the quality just looked not up to par for what a bag should have been for that price range, so back it went.

Conclusion is i love the look of it on others but not one for me:tup:

The Pochette Metis was never on my radar until I got the YSL large College bag in black (somewhat similar design) and found myself using it a lot because it's just such an easy grab and go bag. So I got a Pochette Metis in a neutral beige (turtledove) color. I think many find it a convenient and easy style to use, which probably accounts for its popularity. I like the monogram and empreinte versions, but am not drawn to the reverse monogram version.

I’m a big bag hobo gal. It was super cute but not at all practical for me.
Ah, yes, no matter how cute, if the bag is not our style, it's not going to work out in the long run. I love the rich, smooshy leathers on some hobo style bags, but I am mostly a structured top handle bag girl, so I resist the temptation to buy those smooshy hobo bags with gorgeous leather and colors.

I have the Pochette Metis in turtledove too! Many people buy the monogram version, but I figured I already have other canvas bags :).

Really? How? Given the price, I'd expect better quality :wtf:.
On lighter colored bags the scuffs turn dark. Normally, a good repair shop can fix this. On irridescent/metallic it is difficult to repair. Chanel WILL NOT repair or send out for repair anything metallic or irridescent. Hard to find anyone that will competently repair this finish.

A few, including Chloe Marcie, Lady Dior (still love it but decided not to buy), LV Lockit, some others. Now I'm more about making fewer but more exclusive purchases. I'd love a Kelly but am not willing to go through the kiss up hoops. If one can buy houses, cars, paintings, etc for cash, what's the big deal over a pricey friggin' bag? H bags are beautiful with high quality etc, but I'd rather part with several H bags worth of $$ at a high end jeweler with zero hassle or hoops.
