The Louis Vuitton bucket bag. For years I looked at the bag online and pined after it. It wasn’t until I saw it in person did I find it wasn’t for me. I’m glad I saw it IRL before I pulled the trigger

Hi, I don't really know if this is right place to ask this, so if you could direct me to the proper thread, I'd appreciate it.

I got this Michael Kors Riley pre-owned but it's got these weird leather foldings and creases on the front and back, as well as some pretty deep handle marks too. Could you help me fix it at home?

I've fallen in and out of love with many bags during my fashion journey, but I'm glad I never bought any of the following:
  • Fendi 2Jours: I'm surprised that Fendi discontinued the model since I consider it to be such a classic, understated bag. I ended up buying the 3Jours (also discontinued), which I think fits my overall aesthetic much better.
  • Balenciaga City: The bag is beautiful and edgy, and I had my eye on the metallic edge version for the longest time. However, I'm glad that I didn't buy the Balenciaga City bag because of the horror stories I've heard about the goatskin not holding up well over time. I'm also just not a huge fan of the brand currently. Aside from the City and Hourglass bags, the designs seem pretty lazy and/or derivative: just a giant Balenciaga logo plastered over a simple silhouette.
  • Givenchy Pandora: I thought the washed leather and boxy look was so cool at the time. Looking back, I realize that I probably would have been annoyed with the placement of the zipper closure and the black hole of a central compartment. I've slowly fallen out of love with this bag but I still love her sister, the Antigona.
  • Chloe Nile: It's a gorgeous but terribly impractical bag. I stopped buying Chloe bags after I sold my Faye. They just don't hold their value, and I realize that a lot of Chloe bags are built on manufactured hype through liberal gifting of bags to celebrities and influencers. No shade to the people who love Chloe, but I'm not a fan of that kind of marketing.
  • YSL Loulou: Back when this bag first launched, I thought it was the perfect quilted bag. I liked how the chains were threaded through the bag in a way that prevented the Chanel peaks that are so common with older single flap bags. But I didn't end up buying the bag because of reported corner wear, general quality issues, and because I was starting to see the bag everywhere.

The Hermès Marwari… I was deciding between it and an LV bag which was slightly more expensive. I nearly bought the Hermes due to the fact I didn’t own an H bag yet. However ten years later, I no longer enjoy the look of the Marwari while I still love my LV as much as the day I bought it.
