Bags you don't get

The Neverfull seems so polarizing here on PF! I think we just need to accept it for what it is: a high priced tote bag. If you are looking for a bag that fits that description, you won't find better than this one. I have a GM for travel and an MM for everyday use. When I begin using another one of my bags after using the MM for a while, I miss the ease of the NF. It is a great bag, and that's why they are everywhere. But then, I don't care what other people have or like....I just use what works for me. And as for the "no zipper" complaint, it's really not a big deal. Zip your wallet into the interior pocket. When I travel with my GM, I fasten the hook and layer a scarf/shawl across the opening of the bag.

Okay this will be controversial but I dont get the hype around LV neverfulls.

First of all, everyone has one which makes them feel less special and most of the time people use them as work bags/beater bags. Its the most basic bag ever just a tote bag with no zipper or zip compartments to protect electronics or medicine in case it rains. I always carry benedryl and aspirin when I am on the go.

Maybe I could get on board if it wasnt 1k or over 1k but for that much money I need a zip compartment and something that 50 percent of the female population of my city doesn't already own.

I do like LV...the checker prints and other designs excluding the mongram print in particular but I would prefer them in a bag that isnt in the diaper bag family.

I know I dont have kids yet and one day I will need a stylish diaper bag and maybe then I will warm to the neverfull bags. Okay I will go hide now :)
I agree! It is almost funny to count the neverfulls at the mall because there are so many!

I thought once I would buy one to use for work, but ended up selling it. I much prefer my madewell tote and backpack better. I havent missed the neverfull.

I bought the NF to use as a travel tote. I wanted something that was stylish and tough with structure. I wouldn’t use it as an every day bag (not a fan of totes for that purpose). I also agree that it is ubiquitous, but everyone’s use for them is different. For me, it’s great for the purpose with which it was purchased for.

Same. I searched for some time for an alternative that was equally durable, lightweight, massive, and stylish, but ended up with a NF GM nevertheless. Admittedly I'm not completely thrilled, but really only because I wish I had gone with mono instead of damier ebene; otherwise, I'm pretty pleased. (However, if I overlooked an option and there is some similar tote I missed during my search, I'm happy to accept recommendations )

OMG... I did so much research...I even had 2 pages of spreadsheets with all of the different options comparing measurements, materials AND a pro’s and con’s list for each (much to DH’s amusement). I went back and forth so much!!! I also asked for recommendations from folks on this forum. At the end of the day, I went with the one that made my heart sing (Mono GM). I did buy an insert to help keep it somewhat organized but over all, I do love it.

But yes, recommendations are always appreciated, even if we decide to go in a different direction. I found out about a few brands I’d not heard of that I’ve got my eye on thanks to the wonderful people on this forum. [emoji173]️:)

Yes! I’m with you! Never understood the fascination with this bag...the one thing that irks me are those spaghetti straps! Really? For that much $$$ I want something more substantial. But, it’s just my opinion...

I have a Neverfull as well, purchased in Rome 2017 and I’ve only carried it 5 times. I finding myself carrying my Cuyana Structured tote more.

Oh the Cuyana tote is beautiful!

Yes, it is! I’m a Junkie for pebbled leather. It’s such a workhorse! I can the kitchen sink in it, I don’t feel like I have to baby it and it looks so expensive! I wasted applesauce in the bottom (was there 3 days) and simply used a wet wipe to clean it.

Talking about makes me want to get another. I wish they offered more fun colors.

There’s still is. Just go to ‘Help’ at the bottom of the age & click ‘smilies’. You’ll see the :btdh: and others.
That makes sense about the fighting.
I love threads like these about peoples likes and dislikes and specially when they happen in harmony
And yes, everything is a little bit awesome. If people are happy, I’m happier for them (even if I love black & they love pink).
i found the list of emojis using the help button. Is there some trick getting them to insert. I clicked on one or two, but it did nothing?

I might get shot for saying this, but I really don't care for any of the Hermes bags apart from the B, K, C and Garden Party. Even then, I don't find the B and K particularly easy to use(I own a K, thanks grandma). They are certainly made more for showing off. If they would just add a strap option to the Birkin or a slip pocket in the back to the Kelly! I'd love the Evelyn if there was a closure on the top. An open crossbody like that in Seattle is like begging to be robbed.(Plus, you know, rain). I think the Lindy is the ugliest thing I have seen.
